Join the friends of the national library

There has never been a better time to join the Friends of the National Library of Australia!

As well as meeting new people and enjoying the wide range of benefits provided by our Supporters, you will be invited to attend a range of cultural events offered throughout the year. These include literary weekends, exhibition tours, day trips to places of interest, white glove evenings and lectures by prominent authors, researchers and poets.

You will also be a Friend to one of the most beautiful and majestic buildings in Australia, set in the cultural centre of the capital of Australia, Canberra. Members receive a calendar listing Friends and other Library events each quarter and are also sent monthly updates with their complimentary copy of National Library News and the Friends Newsletter.

The Friends are advised by a committee of 14 members. Committee members range in background and experience and are all members of the Friends. The committee is elected at the annual general meeting held before the Christmas party in December. Nominations are called for at least a month in advance.
