The 2005 Huntsman World Senior Games were recently held at St. George, Utah. Blacklake residents Marcia and Bob Stanger, John Hardin, and Jim and Jan Gallagher were participants. There is a social round of golf on Monday consisting of a 4 person scramble with an awards dinner held at the Sun River Community Center. Bob and Marcia Stanger’s team won second place and John Hardin’s team won third place in the Social Golf. Both teams were awarded gift certificates for their wins.
The Medal Golf competition is conducted over two different courses on Tuesday and Wednesday followed by an awards dinner at The Sun River Community Center on Wednesday evening. John Hardin won the Gold Medal for scoring low gross in the Men’s Medal competition, shooting scores of 76 and 79. Marcia Stanger won the silver Medal for low net in the Women’s Medal Golf. Jim Gallagher participated in the Medal Golf competition and Jan Gallagher took advantage of the walking tour of St. George, which offered a tremendous historical insight to St. George along with its religious background.
Former Blacklake residents, Bruce and Marie Clyde, also participated in the Social and Medal golf competitions. Marie was awarded the Bronze Medal for low gross in her flight. The Huntsman Senior World Games are held annually in |
