What is MyCBC?
MyCBC gives you quick access to localized content on CBC.ca. It allows you to subscribe to e-mail newsletters, and set your preferences for local news and weather information on CBC.ca.
How do I become a MyCBC member?
You can create a membership by going to our registration page.
Why are you making these changes?
These changes to CBC.ca are being made to respond to our users' needs; specifically, a streamlined registration process and easier access to newsletters and your local content.
How do I retrieve my password?
You can retrieve your password by clicking on the "forgot your password" link. Then, follow the password hint instructions. If you cannot remember your password, even after looking at your password hint, you have the option of resetting your password.
Once signed into MyCBC, do I have to log out at the end of each session?
You can log out after each session, or if you prefer not to sign in each time you visit CBC.ca, follow the instructions for the "Remember Me" option. Note that to use this option cookies must be turned on in your web browser.
How can I change my Password?
You can change your password by following the instructions in the Personal Details section of MyCBC.
When I provide my e-mail address, what will my e-mail address be used for?
Your privacy is important to us. Your e-mail address is used as your user-ID on MyCBC only as a unique identifier. For more information about our policies, please see our privacy policy.
After I sign up for a membership, I should receive a confirmation email telling me my registration has been successful. What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation e-mail?

Why do I need to enter my postal code?
Your postal code is used to set the location options for your localized weather, news and programming information.
What do I need to do if I am under 18 years of age?
You need the permission of your parent or guardian to create a membership. For more information, please see our privacy policy.
Is this new Membership system a preparation for making CBC.ca a pay site?
Absolutely not. CBC is a public broadcaster and we will not be charging for our online content.
Do I need to have "cookies" to get a CBC.ca Membership or to use the Program Guide?
Yes. In order to get the most out of your CBC.ca membership, your browser needs to have cookies enabled. Once your cookies are turned on, we can ensure your membership information is saved properly, and you can begin taking advantage of all the local news and weather, e-mail newsletters and customized schedule information that CBC.ca has to offer.

Will my current subscriptions to newsletters be affected by the new MyCBC membership?
No. Your current newsletter subscriptions will be carried over into the new system, and you will continue to receive your current newsletters. After you register with MyCBC, you will be able to manage your current newsletter subscriptions through your membership.
When I registered for my current newsletters, I created a password. Will this password stay the same when I sign into MyCBC?
You will be able to create a new password in your new MyCBC membership.
Some of the newsletters I subscribe to are sent to different e-mail addresses. When I activate my membership will they continue to be sent to those addresses or will they only go to the e-mail address that I used as my user-ID?
Whether you create a membership or not, you will continue to receive the e-mail newsletters that you are currently subscribed to. If you create a membership with CBC, you can easily manage, subscribe to, and unsubscribe from e-mail newsletters in one place.
When I subscribe to several newsletters can they be sent to different e-mail addresses?
When you create a membership, you log into that membership using your e-mail address. Your e-mail address is the key that identifies you. When you create your membership, you can subscribe to newsletters - these newsletters will be sent to the e-mail address that you used to create your membership. If you would like different newsletters to go to different e-mail addresses, you will need to create more than one membership.
How do I unsubscribe from a newsletter?
To unsubscribe from an e-mail newsletter, you log into your membership, and in the newsletter section of your membership, you can unsubscribe from any e-mail newsletters that you receive.
