Welcome to the Mambo Foundation |
|
The Mambo Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed in August 2005 to serve as a supporting organization for the Mambo Open Source Project. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support and protection for the development of the Mambo software system. We are modeled after similar ventures, such as the Eclipse Foundation and the GNOME Foundation. The Mambo Foundation is the legal owner of the Mambo code, trademarks, and copyrights. The Foundation is still young and in the process of taking final shape. While the initial Board of Directors has been formed, the current Foundation Rules and Procedures are undergoing review and revision. Participation in the reviews and revisions process is open to all in the Membership. To participate in the process, please first visit the Documents Under Review page and then visit the Forums, where discussion of the documents is taking place. Goals and objectives While the Foundation does not yet have a formal mission statement or approved goals, the Board has agreed on the following as general goals: - Provide clear, neutral, and sustainable ownership of code, trademarks, and domains.
- Establish an accountable and transparent decision-making structure for essential activities.
- Act as the voice of Mambo for official announcements, press releases, and other communications.
- Promote activities designed to help grow Mambo and the Mambo market.
- Solicit additional funding and participation.
