Undergraduate
While at Royal Roads University, learners in the 12-month programs complete year three and four of an undergraduate degree. As such, the British Columbia Student Assistance Program (BCSAP) requires that two applications be submitted, one for each academic year. Both applications may be submitted at the same time.
The application is a one stop process to apply for three kinds of funding:
- Provincial Student Loan
- Canada Student Loan
- Canada Study Grant for Students with Dependents
Student Loan Disbursement Dates
Your student loan is released in two disbursements per academic year (note: two quarters equal one academic year). Again, the reason for this is that the first disbursement comes from the federal government funding (60%) and the second disbursement comes from the provincial government funding (40%).
The first disbursement occurs at the beginning of the academic term. The second disbursement occurs halfway through the academic year.
An example of this would be:
A British Columbia student would receive:
Two disbursements for year three of degree:
- Federal disbursement in early September
- Provincial disbursement in early January
Two disbursements for year four of degree:
- Federal disbursement in early April
- Provincial disbursement in mid-June
