I think most women have felt threatened or bullied in their cars at some point - there have been a couple of occasions when I have felt uneasy because of another driver. People driving too close is one of the most common forms of intimidation and although in most cases it comes to nothing it still is an unpleasant experience and it is good to know that the problem is now being recognised.

I think driving on the road is becoming increasingly scarey - especially for women by themselves. I've had quite a few experiences where I've felt intimidated on the roads - often with cars driving far too close behind me or coming along side on the motorway. I've even had people trying to open the passenger door when I'm waiting to pull away so now I always drive with my doors locked. We definitely need more advice on this issue, and more needs to be done to make clear what you have to do if you feel threatened on the roads.
