Community Outreach

At BusinessOnLine, we value a positive environment inside and outside our offices. For this reason, we are committed to community outreach. We are proud to be an organization that cares about society’s issues and pro-actively participates in constructive events. We sponsor and provide incentives for our employees to join us whenever possible.

Below are some good causes that BOL has participated in helping so far.  We do not just build Web sites, we build better communities.

AIDS Walk

The money raised at the annual AIDS Walk helps provide essential prevention and care programs to thousands of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS. For the second year as a group, the BOL team walked a 5k at Balboa Park, San Diego on October 2, 2005 for the 16th annual AIDS Walk.

BOL Family Adopts Katrina Family

Hurricane Katrina was one of the most deadly and costly hurricanes in U.S. history. 160 mph winds destroyed part of Louisiana and thousands of lives there. The Kahlow family extended its generosity in helping a family of four with new clothing, a car and some furniture. They also offered comfort and emotional support by sharing their time with a family in much need. It was an inspiring and positive experience for all.

Tsunami Relief

American Red Cross

On December 26, 2004, a tidal wave in the Indian Ocean devastated the lives of millions of people and families living along the coasts. BOL has contributed financially to the cause by donating through the Red Cross, individually and as a group.

Web Site Built for Communities

Habitat for Humanity

San Diego Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit organization that offers help to families in need. Their goal is to eliminate poverty and homelessness by building homes and selling them to low-income families. BOL has helped build and improve their Web site presence. Thad Kahlow has also donated his time for volunteer labor.

Recycling and Preserving

We have made a partial move to a paperless office. As much as possible, we use scanners instead of copying machines, e-mails and attachments instead of paper letters, e-fax instead of paper fax and store information electronically instead of in filing cabinets.

We also recycle paper and trash as part of our daily office culture.
