Oakland Schools to Close Thursday
KRON 4's Holly Juscen reports from Oakland where school officials are now telling parents to keep their children home on Thursday.  That's a major change from plans to use replacement teachers to keep classrooms open in case of a planned one-day strike.  Part of the issue involves the possibility that two other unions could walk out in solidarity with the teachers.
Parents Rally to Demand Both Sides Talk
KRON 4's Will Tran says parents are telling both the teachers and the administrators that they expect an end to the contract fight and a focus on improving education. Many parents are also wondering what they will do with their children with classrooms expected to be closed on Thursday.

SJ Camera Catches Illegal Dumpers
KRON 4's Rob Fladeboe says some San Jose residents are fed up with people dumping appliances and other junk in their neighborhood. The next illegal dumper may find his or her picture turned over to authorities. Residents are setting up hidden cameras that snap photos of people leaving garbage and debris behind in the neighborhood.

Despite signs which urge people to use marked crosswalks, many people jaywalk. Stanley says California law doesn't protect jaywalkers. In fact, drivers can sue people crossing on foot illegally for damage to their car!
