2006 sees the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the Great Empire of Genghis Khan and there's never been a better time to explore his Motherland. Take a trip back to the 13th Century and experience the life of a Mongolian legend. This trip is one of the official events marking this anniversary and all official events are approved by the Mongolian Ministry of Roads, Transport and Tourism.
Genghis Khan conquered lands riding his 8 light bay horses, which none of his entourage were allowed to touch. At the opening of the Naadam festival every year Mongolians celebrate this by delivering the State banner to the Stadium on 8 bay horses.
But this time his geldings are waiting just for you in Khentii National Park - a beautiful combination of forest, mountain, steppe, rivers and lakes. To evoke the spirit and time of Genghis Khan, each trip participant can wear traditional costume and equipment of the time, while eroding through landscape greatly unchanged since the founding of the Mongolian empire.
Finally, all participants receive a VCD of the horse trip to keep as a souvenir of this trip of a lifetime. We guarantee that this will be an experience you will never forget.
