Castle of Montsegur
Perched with 1200 meters of altitude, the vestiges of the current place of Montségur do not owe large any more thing in Cathares. The fortress theatre of the terrible events of the year 1244 was the subject of a total reorganization in second half of XIIIe century. The place remains however in charge of a painful past: more than 200 Perfect found death in this mythical place, immolés in the name of the faith in a gigantic blazing inferno. Eight centuries later, these flames of another age always feed the most insane speculations and rumours.

Castle of Lavardens
The origin of Lavardens is lost in the mists of time. The counts of Armagnac made of it their principal residence during the 12th century and built a powerful fortress there. Several times destroyed, it was definitively dismantled by the troops of king de France in 1496. Given by Henri de Navarre to Antoine de Roquelaure in 1585, this one undertook there the construction of a new residence since 1620.
