Welcome to ACT.

Canberra, the capital of Australia, is sometimes referred to as 'the bush capital' because pockets of bush land reserve extend almost to the city centre and over half the land is classified as national park or nature reserve.

Any visit to Canberra really should include some of the major monuments like Parliament House, Old Parliament House, National Gallery of Australia, Australian War Memorial. Guided tours are available.

To get a feeling for the city, take a walk around Lake Burley Griffin. This hours walk takes you past many of Canberra's main buildings along the way one of which is the National Capital Exhibition Centre.
