Fishing for Silver Salmon

Silver Salmon

Guided fishing trips for silver salmon begin in late July with fly out day trips to the West Side of Cook Inlet. We then begin fishing the Kenai River and other Kenai Peninsula Rivers in early August and runs remain strong well into the month of September.

West Side Cook Inlet: Big River Silvers

SilversThis fishery begins in late July and peaks in mid to late August. This is extremely productive fishing with high numbers of fish and very little pressure. Fishing is done with bait, lures and flies and multiple fish days are the rule. The limit is three fish per person. This trip also presents excellent bear viewing and sightseeing opportunities both from the plane and on the Lake.

Full day (includes float-plane transportation, guide, all gear and boat)

Season: July 20 - Sept 20.  See our fishing rates page for current pricing.

Kenai River Silvers

This fishery is good from Aug 4 until the season closes on the last day of September. Peak times include mid August and mid September. Most Kenai silver trips are combination silver and trout trips in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge below Skilak Lake. Limit is two fish per day.

Full day (includes guide, all gear and power boat)

Season: Aug. 4 - Sept. 30.  See our fishing rates page for current pricing.

Kasilof River Silvers

This fishery is best Aug 10 until mid September. The action is always very consistent and the best fishing occurs in the last two weeks of August.

(includes guide, all gear and drift boat)

Season: Aug 1. - Sept 30.  See our fishing rates page for current pricing.

Smaller Peninsula Rivers

Day trips are available to one of many smaller Kenai Peninsula Rivers namely, the Ninilchik, Deep Creek, and the Anchor River. This the perfect trip for those that prefer wade fishing on smaller streams and also for fly anglers.
