Hello and
welcome to the newest online resource and directory for amputees in
Canada and around the world. I have put together a collection of
Canadian
and International links to amputee and
disability related
web sites to provide quick access to some of the best amputee
resources available.
By doing so, I hope you will
find some useful amputee information that will help you cope
with your amputation and phantom pain experiences.
My name is Larry Gardner, and I have
been an above knee amputee since 1974, almost 30
years.
I lost my
left leg above the knee as a result of a motor vehicle
accident involving a motorcycle and a car.
A year or
so later, I became
seriously involved in disabled sports, including
competitive swimming and skiing, and recreational
sports such as cycling and amputee
waterskiing.
I hope that by sharing my
experiences and those of other amputees, and by providing a
current directory of amputee and disability resources, that I
will be of some assistance in dealing with your amputation or
coping with your phantom limb
pain.
