![]() | bonus tracks... I'm Tore Down and Hootchie Cootchie Man |
Recorded in 2004-2005 at Sunshine Hills Studios in beautiful Delta, British Columbia, on a Boss BR-1180CD Multitrack Digital Recording Studio.
POOR BOY BLUES ONE 5.8 MB
![]() | My first attempt at making a "serious" recording. I play all the instruments except for bass and drums (midi files), and sing 3 part harmony. |
POOR BOY BLUES TWO 5.9 MB
![]() | Slightly remixed and hopefully new and improved version. I may have redone some dobro parts on this one. |
POOR BOY BLUES WITH COLIN 5.2 MB
![]() | The final? remix, with Colin on twangy nashville style geetar! |
DOBRO JAM WITH COLIN - 8 MB
![]() | I came up with this chord progression late one night on my new dobro in open D tuning. The more I drank, the better it sounded, so I turned on the BOSS and "laid it down". A few weeks later, I played it for Colin, and he added two guitar tracks in two takes! I guess this is the second song I've ever written... |
I KNOW A LITTLE - 5 MB
![]() | Unfinished version. I'm still waiting for Don to come over and add his smokin gun guitar sounds to this one... |
I'M TORE DOWN W/ COLIN - 4.5 MB
![]() | Pretty good recording. One of my earlier ones. |
IT'S ALL OVER NOW - 5.3 MB
![]() | It's also ALL ME...nobody else on this one yet. Obviously one of my earlier efforts. |
OLD LOVE - 6 MB
![]() | Instrumental version with Colin and me on guitars, and Norm playing with his organ! |
OLD LOVE 2 - 8.8 MB
![]() | This is the original that Colin and I recorded. We were a little wasted, but there's a few parts in there that don't sound too bad. |
STORMY MONDAY BLUES - 9.7 MB
![]() | Another early attempt at recording something listenable. This track features Don on some stellar guitar work throughout. |
STORMY MONDAY REMIX - 9.8 MB
![]() | This jazzier version features Jim Gibson on lead guitar, with a totally different feel. |
STRANGE BREW - 4.2 MB
![]() | Another early recording featuring Colin on Lead Guitar |
GIBSON GARDNER BAND - 6.8 MB - Recorded in Penticton BC around 1997 or 1998 with Jim Gibson. This is my first original song. Jim plays bass and lead guitars. I'm on acoustic guitar and shaker.
WHY I SING THE BLUES - 3.2 MB - Recorded on Christmas Day, 2004 in Victoria BC with Jim Gibson on electric guitars and doubling as recording engineer, and Larry on his new Dobro and Vocals.
These songs were recorded onto hard disk using Power Tracks Pro and a cheap Soundblaster soundcard. Basically these are my first attempts at home recording from around 2001-2002 or so.
