Cetyl Myristoleate Documentation

The purpose of this page is two fold.  First it provides documentation for cetyl myristoleate from a variety of medical journals and other magazines. I hope the list of articles about cetyl myristoleate on the left side of the page will answer all your question about cetyl myristoleate. If not feel free to contact me. I stay in contact with several doctors who work with cetyl myristoleate and spend much of my time doing research on the subject.

I know that many people coming to this page are not medical professionals and are not interested in reading complicated details of each of the studies on cetyl myristoleate. So for those of you looking for basic information on cetyl myristoleate I have included below a summery of the last two studies. For those who want more documentation there are links on the side to the complete published results of the studies.
cetyl myristoleate is basically a food. It is derived out of fish oil. Thousands of people have taken it over the last 30 years with out one reported complication. When you look at the severe and dangerous side effect associated with both steriodal and non steriodal anti-inflammatories it make since to try a natural food based product that most people who try it say it works better than their prescription drugs.

So is it worth $25 to try something safe an natural. I thought so and it did wonders for me. What it did for my father was almost miraculous.

Summery of the Last two major research studies of cetyl myristoleate

A randomized clinical trial by Dr. H. Siemandi, MD.. et al. Primary research administrator at Hospital SM, Avenido Mazatlan, Rosarito Beach, Baja, California and Institut SM, Kamin Pamorski, Poland.

This was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled parallel trial of 432 patients. 106 were randomized to receive cetyl myristoleate. 84 were radomised to receive cetyl myristoleate + Glucosamine. 226 received the placebo.
Joint swelling scores improved in 47.2% in patients using cetyl myristoleate alone and 77.2% in patients using cetyl myristoleate plus Glucosamine. Patients experiencing worsening or no reaction totaled 1.0% both of the cetyl myristoleate groups, compared with improvement of 21.1% in placebo group.
The study was conducted under the auspices of the Joint European Hospital Studies Program. This study was designed by a committee, which consisted of rheumatologists and biostatisticians experienced in the development and execution of clinical trials. Oversight of the study was accomplished by an executive committee, composed of the primary researcher and primary statistician, selected participating investigators, consultants; and an independent sight committee consisting of two experienced federally controlled, state health department rheumatologists and one state health department biostatistician

The San Diego Clinical Trials of Cetyl Myristoleate

This was a study of 48 patients with mild to severe Arthritis.
The Results: Only two subjects failed to show marked or complete relief of all symptoms of pain and limited mobility normally associated with arthritis. Both of these non-responding subjects had suffered prior hepatic problems: one from alcohol abuse resulting in cirrhosis of the liver; the other, a former professional athlete, presented with considerable liver damage from steroid abuse. Further studies are necessary to determine the role of liver function capacity with respect to this protocol. Liver damage resulting from steroids previously prescribed for arthritis may also prove to be a factor affecting patient response.

Two other subjects showed less than a 75% return of articulator mobility. The balance of all subjects reported 80% to 100% return of articulator mobility as well as a 70% to 100% decrease of pain. Relief of inflammation frequently resulted in at least partial correction of some deformities. Informal independent trials at clinics, by individual medical doctors, and other health practitioners appear to have brought approximately the same results.
