Welcome to the on-line version of the Coastal Fisherman newspaper. The Coastal Fisherman is a free paper published weekly from May through September in addition to our popular Winter Issue in January. Since 1976 we have offered concentrated news coverage of saltwater fishing along the Maryland/Delaware/Virginia coast along with columns and feature articles on techniques, products, electronics and much, much more. Enjoy!

Still seeing a few flounder being caught in the bays up around the Rt. 90 Bridge.

Seeing more tog being caught in the Inlet and along the bulkhead between 2nd and 4th Street. Green crab is the choice for bait.

Mostly bluefish, shad, tautog and a few stripers in the Inlet.

Surf fishermen are landing some nice stripers off Assateague and up around 144th Street. Most are caught using fresh bunker or herring for bait.

I went fishing for a couple of hours this afternoon and got into some snapper blues in the south bay around Marker #4. Most of the bluefish were in the 2-3 lb. range and were an absolute blast on light tackle.

Water temperature in the bay was 59 degrees.
