About Us

What would make a smart, young couple decide to sell their successful bed and breakfast in California (see below) and move to Vermont. Because, as it says above, they are smart & young!

Well, maybe not so young anymore but coming to Vermont feels like coming home for Trish & Jim Gordon. Both originally from New England, we welcomed guests in Calfornia for five years and when the forest fires came close, decided maybe it was time to head back east.

We bought the restaurant and 20 cabins in August, 2004 and its been a whirlwind. Certainly one of the most challenging times in our 10 years of married life, but also one of the most rewarding.

Jim is our engineering department with a smile. When we bought the property, it was in dire need of cleaning and re-furbishing. While we are still at it, we've made many improvements including structural improvements like new roofs and patched walls to new carpet and vinyl in the cabins.
The pool is sparkling clean and we are always around for guests to access.

We took this . . .

and added our special touches.
Welcome to your home away from home!

Trish plays the chief decorator. She worked on the cabins and also added touches to the restaurant.

We wanted to make the restaurant our own

With a little (lot of) cleaning, some new paint and new tablesettings - welcome to Maple Grove Dining Room

Sometimes the Vermont winter gets to Trish but she's cheerful when you call on the phone!

We didn't come alone from California - that's Jack & Cappy in front of our B&B in CA. They live above the restaurant with us and love to go on hikes. We also have Abby & Dolly, two tabby cats who drive Jim crazy.
