New York Traffic School Information
If you get a speeding ticket or other moving violation in New York State you will typically receive points on your license. Points range from3 for speeding up to 10 MPH over the limit to 11 points for more than 40 MPH over the limit. If you receive 11 points on your new york drivers license in 18 months your license will likely be suspended or revoked. But you have some options.
Many courts in New York will allow you to take a traffic school course to avoid the points. You will need to contact the court where you received your ticket to get permission to take advantage of the New York Point and Insurance Reduction Program.
