LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Never a dull moment

Re: 'Rookie agent gets first taste of Big Apple' (April 21)

Dear Editor:

Never a dull moment in the life of a Realtor. This agent did all right for a rookie and managed to print and handle her business cards, and show the property on time. Did she sell it that day?

Re: '5 key ways to avoid buying a bad condo' (April 21)

Dear Editor:

Bob Bruss offers good advice on purchasing a condo in a large complex. In the greater Boston area, condo associations are often small -- three or less trustees. This is due to the many three-family house conversions to condos as well as many two-family households. Some of the ways to avoid purchasing a bad condo don't apply. For example, it wouldn't make sense to have a professionally managed condo for such a small association. Often, these responsibilities are indeed self-managed by the owners since it would cost too much money to finance a management company. It would have been nice to also read about small condo associations and what key things to look at when considering a purchase. Otherwise, there is sound material in the article to get one started.
