To qualify for the first direct deposit in 2006 (October 4), you must apply online in January and qualify for direct deposit. The 2006 payment dates will be: October 4, 2006 - persons who apply online in January and select and qualify for direct deposit.  October 19, 2006 - all others (those who apply online in February and March or by paper January through March) who select and qualify for direct deposit.  November 14, 2006 - checks begin to be mailed.
