    Gisborne

    A city of firsts: the site of the first European landing in New Zealand by the Endeavour, and Captain James Cook in 1769. Also it is the first city in the world to see the sunrise; additionally Gisborne is lucky enough to be one of New Zealand's cities that see the sun the most. Perfect surfing beaches, luscious farmland, wineries, and extensive Maori history make the Eastland area an ideal spot to travel if variety of activities is required.
