Definitely Not the Opera returns for a twelfth season exploring the nooks and crannies of pop culture with host, Sook-Yin Lee.
On the street, on stage or behind the scenes, DNTO takes listeners on a fast paced trip through the cultural landscape of Canada and the world.
Whether you're shuttling kids around town in the car, shopping, strolling with your portable radio, or just unwinding on the couch after a long week at work, Definitely Not the Opera is the ideal audio guide to the fast-changing world of popular culture. It's your tip sheet to what's hot, what to watch, who to listen to and what's going on.
Sook-Yin Lee has spent her life immersed in culture. She's a singer, musician, actor, filmmaker, writer, tv producer and former competitive swimmer. After leaving home at fifteen she toured Canada with her band Bob's Your Uncle and has since released two solo albums. As an actor she's done everything from film to TV to experimental theater. She's written screenplays, directed short films and was a VJ at MuchMusic where she interviewed everyone from Allen Ginsberg to Madonna.
