This lovely town has indoor/outdoor markets, cinema, mediaeval chateau walls, river, parkland and a TGV railway station. Half an hour from Ile de Re, Ile d'Oleron and other magnificent beaches. Rochefort, Saintes, and Cognac all within each reach. 30 mins from Marais Poitevin, the Green Venice, where you can take a leisurely canal trip. Fine restaurants, cafe/bars and shops all within easy walking distance. Poitiers (home to Futuroscope) is easily accessed along the A10 motorway link. The region has its own micro-climate.

La Belle Cachette is a south-facing house with 3/4 bedrooms for sleeping 6/8 people. Two bathrooms and central heating for year round use. The kitchen has a beamed ceiling, large table and chairs for 8 and is particularly well equipped with electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and extra fridge/freezer. The beamed salon has open stone fireplace, 3 sofas, armchair, satellite TV, cd/tape,radio player and board games, books and video library. There is a quiet reading room and a day room/bedroom 4 overlooking the pool and covered terrace with its barbecue area. The walled garden has lawned area, shrubs, palms, olive and banana trees. There is a front courtyard with side access and ample parking.Cot and highchair are provided. Linen included but not towels. Sorry no pets or smokers allowed.
