The Attractiveness of Romantic Couples and its Effects on
Does media have effect on people’s romantic relationship? This study examines the theory that romantic partners match each other in attractiveness. Because many couples showed in TV programs match in attractiveness, the study tries to analyze whether those people who tell their dating partners have to match them in attractiveness were influenced by media. 62 participants took part in the study. Faces of five most and least attractive men and women were selected and arranged in order to create various experimental conditions. Some of them match in attractiveness and some of them didn’t. Results of the study showed that more people think that couples should match in attractiveness.
