English is the language of instruction and communications in all programs taught on campus. All candidates must possess an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English as a prerequisite for admission. Applicants whose first language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency through one of the following:
TOEFL (paper-based): 570, TOEFL CBT (computer-based): 233, TOEFL iBT (Internet-based): minimum score of 20 in each section for an overall minimum score of 88 or better. (Institution Code: 9054)
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL), Assessment of 60 overall, with 60 in writing proficiency
Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 82
International English Language Testing Services: 6.5 overall with no individual item score less than 6.0
York English Language Test: 5
CanTEST: 4.5 in reading and listening, 4.0 in writing.
Evidence of competence in English through other standardized tests or education experience will be considered on an individual basis.
