Open year around. In Grand Mesa National Forest, about an hour east of Grand Junction on all-weather state highways, this resort features cozy housekeeping cabins that sleep from 2 to 8, and a small motel overlooking beautiful Island Lake. Escape the summer heat and relax in Grand Mesa's cool mountain air at their 10,500' elevation. "The Grand Mesa... a place where memories are made." The attractively furnished log cabins are spaced apart from each another for privacy and have fully equipped kitchens, gas heat and bathrooms with showers. One cabin features a rock fireplace and lake view. All cabins are furnished with bedding, towels, barbecue grills and outdoor campfire area. The motel units are available for those not requiring kitchen facilities. The comfortable lodge lobby has a scenic view for relaxation, conversation and coffee. Shop in the on-site store for groceries, gifts, fishing and hunting licenses and supplies.

Rent a canoe or rowboat at the lodge for memorable fishing in trout-filled Island Lake, the largest of 200+ lakes on Grand Mesa, an outstanding 1-1/2 miles long and surrounded by evergreens. Our lodge is 300 feet above Island Lake. Horseback riding and golfing opportunities, as well as restaurants, are nearby. ATV and Jeep trails abound. Visit Surface Creek Valley Historical Society's Pioneer Town in Cedaredge where you can experience the American West at the turn of the century. Hikers will want to trek along the Crag Crest National Recreation Trail, a 10-mile circular trail rising from east and west trailheads. You can walk to the west trailhead from the lodge. The 6.5 mile long path stretching across the top of Crag Crest is open to foot traffic only.
Fall brings spectacular autumn colors. Deer and elk abound for hunting in season or simply viewing. Snowmobile tours are offered in winter at the resort. Take a snowmobile tour to enjoy the 800 square miles on the mesa top with its groomed trails, open meadows, hidden valleys or steep slopes. You can also cross country ski or snowshoe from your door step. The average yearly snowfall here is 420 inches, that's 35 feet! Well mannered pets are permitted in the cabins for a minimal additional cost and must be on a leash at ALL times. All cabins and rooms are non-smoking. Ken and Conne, owner/operators, will treat you like family. Location: Sixteen miles north of Cedaredge on all-weather Highway 65, near milepost marker 28, or 34 miles south of I-70 exit 49. 2825 Highway 65, PO Box 49, Cedaredge, Colorado 81413; 800-551-6372; 970-856-3250.
