This
rustic style house was built ten years ago and has
the charm of a mountain retreat chalet. It is located
in a peaceful setting in the hills above Montezuma
on a large 74 acre property! From both floors one
has a view of the ocean and panaramic views
of the surrounding mountains. This two story structure
is made from fine tropical hardwoods and has been
detailed with natural stone on several interior and
exterior walls.
On
the ground floor is located 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom,
a large kitchen with counter bar and a large tiled
exterior terrace wrapping around half of the house.
Upstairs is a living room area, veranda and an additional
bedroom (total area approx. 180 m2 / 1937 sqft.) There
is a small caretaker's house with a storeroom adjacent
to, yet set apart from the main house.
Many
old trees stand on the finca and there is plenty of
pasture for grazing horses. There is a year round
river which borders the back of the property. A long
drive way brings you to the house through a cacophony
of flowering tropical trees and foliage. Meandering
down this winding path makes one feel as though they
have left the world behind. But not out of it- you
are in Montezuma or on the beach in 7 minutes.
Much of this property has been reforested with rare
and valuable hardwood trees, including Mahogany, Cocobolo,
Guanacaste, Pochote, and Teak. in addition, the property
has an orange tree orchard with 200 fruit-producing trees!
