Campside Thoughts
By
Chuck Shepard
Welcome to what you might find to be unusual addition to our campground website. Chuck's Campside Thoughts are just that, my thoughts about a lot of things. Mostly during the season I will try to stick to the topic, camping, but sometimes I can't resist the urge to inform you about (complain about) the government, the Forest Service or the weather. This page is meant to be in fun, but every once in awhile I do make people mad. If you are one of those people who get annoyed when someone disagrees with your thoughts, I encourage you to not read this page, life is too short, and I am far from an authority on anything to be taken seriously.
This website is meant to be a vehicle to inform you about what is available in the mid Cascades in the camping world. Hoodoo manages many of the best campgrounds available, both USFS rustic campgrounds and the more upscale full hookup RV Parks. This website has a LOT of information about all the campgrounds, perhaps more information than you have patience to read or go through. But if you are like me and find that planning for a vacation is half the fun, then I encourage you to go through the description of our sites. Sometimes people get in a rut of always camping at the same campgrounds, this website gives you the chance to broaden your horizons. Some people think that if they don't have reservations they won't get into a campground. Almost all of our USFS campgrounds are at least partially first come - first served and even if they are full, we describe other campgrounds that are just as good.
An advantage of camping with Hoodoo is that while most of our campgrounds are fairly rustic without showers or laundry, we do have RV parks where you are welcome to go to take care of those needs for a nominal fee. Just let the RV park host know where you are camping and they will help you out. I hope that your 2006 camping season is a great one. Be careful with your fires, courteous to your fellow travelers, and keep a smile on your face.
See you around the campfire,
