Not long after the terrible Nor' Easter of 1933 cut

un-believable numbers of marlin congregating not far offshore into he
Atlantic. It did not take long for a group of local captains to band
together to form a loose knit organization aimed at conserving this
newfound resource, and to promote Ocean City's sport fishing. In 1936
they became known as the Ocean City Marlin Club.
If you enjoy the sight of a marlin greyhounding, a limit of tuna,
the taste of scrumptious dolphin or wahoo, then we encourage you to
join our club. Whatever your fishing passions, the Ocean City Marlin
Club is working to create an interest in our area's sport fishing
and promote the conservation of the sea and her creatures.
In the last sixty years, the Marlin Club has become a virtual
institution to the Ocean City fishing community. WE strive to blend the strong traditions of the old Ocean City's fishing pioneers, with
those of today's modern fisherman.
During the summer the Ocean City Marlin Club plays host to
several tournaments. We work with the city to promote the Amateur
Anglers Contest; In June we sponsor the Small Boat Tournament for
offshore and inshore fishing which includes numerous categories of
fish. This is a great opportunity for families to fish together.
Over the July 4th weekend we head offshore for the first billfish
tournament of the season in our Canyon Kickoff. Prize money
typically exceeds $75,000 dollars. The end of July features
