Tournament Choice

"I really enjoyed myself in this tournament and commend you for facilitating an excellent tournament. Please keep me informed of any future Holdem tournaments and I will be sure to recommend your poker site to other players."
- ALAN MONTSION

Absolute Poker is proud to offer the best in poker tournament action, bringing you the most comprehensive online poker tournament schedule available online today. We offer both Sit & Go table online poker tournaments for all games and limits, including unique versions featuring Private poker tourneys, Heads Up, and Special promotional tournaments. All online poker tournament listings and schedules can be viewed from the "Tourney" tab in the Main Lobby.
Single Table Poker Tournaments
Sit & Go tournaments begin once enough players have enrolled to fill the number of seats offered in the tournament. Absolute Poker offers one, two and three table Sit & Go tournaments. Holdem, and Omaha tournaments have either 9, 18, or 27 entrants, while Seven Card Stud tournaments have either 7, 14 or 21 etnrants. The number of entrants for each Sit & Go tournament can be viewed by looking at the "enrolled" column i.e. "6 of 9" would mean that there are 9 players allowed in the tournament and 6 are currently registered. Players in all Sit & Go tournaments play against each other until one player wins all the chips from his or her opponents. Cash prizes are awarded to top finishers based on the number of registered tournament entries. In 2 and 3 table Sit & Go tournaments, as players are eliminated tables are "broken", meaning players are re-assigned to other tables, in order to keep the tables full.
Private Table Online Poker Tournaments

Absolute Poker is home to Private Tournaments. What is a Private Online Poker Tournament? Private Tournaments are Single Table tournaments where 9 players can play exclusively with each other. If you have made a deposit with Absolute Poker, you may request to join private tournament groups. Whether you have been invited or not, it is up to the VIP of each group to approve or decline requests for entry.

To create your own private tournament, you must be a VIP. VIP's are our most loyal and active real money players who have accumulated 10,000 ARP's.. VIP's have the ability to create the private poker tournament groups as well as approve or decline those players who have requested to join each group.

To get started, access the TOURNAMENT tab from the main lobby.

Multi Table Poker Tournaments
In a multi table poker tournament, players start with a fixed number of chips. Players at numerous tables compete for one another's chips as the blinds and/or antes increase incrementally. As players are eliminated, tables are "broken," meaning players are re-assigned to other tables, in order to keep tables full. Eventually, the last few surviving players with chips are assigned to the final table, where the winner is the individual who wins all the chips from his or her opponents. Cash prizes are awarded to top finishers based on the number of registered tournament entries.
Multi Table Poker Tournaments
NOW at Absolute Poker there are Re-buy Tournaments!

Selected real money multi table tournaments will now provide players with the ability to re-buy additional chips during the first hour of play. At Absolute Poker all players start tournaments with 1,500 chips, and re-buys are available during this period anytime that the player has 1,500 or less chips. At the end of the re-buy period players will be given an opportunity to "add-on" an additional 2,000 chips, OR, unique to Absolute Poker, do a "double add-on" and receive 4,000 additional chips.

All re-buys and add-ons cost the same amount as the original tournament buy-in. For example, in a $5 tournament each re-buy or add-on will cost an additional $5.

Also exclusive to Absolute Poker is the ability to check the "auto re-buy" box, providing you with your additional chips immediately upon your balance falling to 1,500 chips or less during the period when re-buys are available.

The funds collected for re-buys and add-ons are added to the prize pool and are paid out to the winning players as determined by the number of entrants.

Satellites

A satellite is a smaller buy-in tournament in which the prize is an entry into a larger buy-in tournament. For example, if you won a $2 satellite tournament that had at least 10 entrants your prize would be a $20 entry into a $20 buy-in tournament. Instead of distributing the $20 prize pool over the top 3 finishers as done in standard tournaments with 10 entrants the $20 prize is pooled and awarded to first place only. If 20 entrants, 2 $20 tournament buy-in entries would be awarded. Therefore, for this example, for every 10 entrants, 1 $20 tournament buy-in fee is awarded.

On a much larger scale, a $100 tournament with 50 entrants could win you a $5,000 tournament buy-in for a major World Poker Tour tournament event held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If you are interested in satelliting to higher buy-in tournaments including major tournament events such as tournaments held by the World Poker Tour, see our satellite tournament schedule.

Absolute FreeRolls

Don't miss out on our Absolute FreeRoll tourneys. FreeRolls are simply that, FREE and require no buy-in nor buy-in fee. FreeRolls at Absolute Poker reward top finishers with real money and/or satellite entry to other cash prize tournaments.

To Whom it May Concern:
It's not often I am compelled to write an email to a company, but I feel I owe Absolute Poker a debt of gratitude.
I know sometimes we don't realize how our actions during our daily grind at work can affect others, I wanted you to know how your company and the people that work there have changed my life.
My name is Ron Harris, I am 43 years old. I live in Conroe Texas , just outside Houston . I am disabled and homebound, I am unable to work. I live on Social Security and my wifes modest income. Before this happened I was a Computer Network Trainer / Engineer making 75k a year, needless to day, Social Security pays ALOT less.
I am disabled due to an inoperable back condition, I am in a great deal of pain every second of everyday, its a struggle. The pain medication I take makes me feel pretty bad which just adds to my struggle, my life is a challenge.
I want you to know that the "FreeRolls" you run everyday have had a enormous impact in my life. I get to play poker (which is a passion of mine), with a chance of winning something without a wager of real money (which in my situation is just not possible).
These FreeRolls allow me to focus on the game and the excitement etc. this reduces my pain dramatically, I take less pain medication and the sickness from the medication is dramatically reduced. There is no words to explain the improvement in my life. And my Doctor is Amazed as well.
I just wanted to thank ALL OF YOUR PEOPLE for what they unknowingly have done, I hope you will pass this email on, to let the people know how much I am thankful. To change my life in such a dramatic way is a special kind of payment that you can't assign a value too, and its something I could never repay. I can only offer my gratitude.
I Thank You, and my Family Thanks you.
With the Utmost Gratitude,
Ronald D. Harris

Entering a Multi Table Poker Tournament
Before registering for one of our online poker tournaments, please take a moment to look over the Tournament Rules page.
To enter an Absolute tournament, select the "Tourneys" tab from the Main Lobby. Select the type of online poker tournament, and then select the tournament game of your choice. You will see information about this online poker tournament in the information box at the right. Under the "State" column, look for a tournament which has a state of "Registering". The particulars of the tournament (game, structure and buy-in) are listed. Double-click on a tournament in "Registering" state or click on the "Tournament Lobby" button to open the Tournament Lobby. Click the "Register" button, and log in if you have not already done so. The software will confirm your registration. You may take your seat by selecting the "Take Your Seat" button. Check the Tournament Lobby for registration and seat times.
Note that for all online poker tournaments, players are all assigned random seats to start the tournament. As is customary in poker tournaments, a player may move seats and/or tables in order to balance the distribution of chips and to ensure that tables are kept as full as possible as players are eliminated from the tournament. The button in Texas Holdem and Omaha tournaments will be assigned to Seat 1.
As in a regular poker game, when it is your turn to act, you may check, bet, raise, call, or fold (where applicable). You will notice another button called Time Bank when it is your turn to act, shown after you receive a time warning in the chat window. The Time Bank allows players extra time to decide on a course of action during an online poker tournament, and will slowly deplete as it is used throughout the tournament.
Online Poker Tournament Lobby
At any point during the online poker tournament, players can check the tournament lobby for information about the tournament's progress. The lobby will show the current limit level for the tournament, information about players' stack sizes, and the breakdown of the prize pool.
Also in the tournament lobby is a player search function. The tournament lobby lists all players, and double-clicking on any player handle, or clicking on the "Player Info" button, will give you current tournament information for that player.
After the online poker tournament, the winners will receive an email which provides comprehensive information about the tournament. Anyone can request a tournament history at any time after the tournament's conclusion by going to the Main Lobby and selecting "Tournament History" from the "Request" menu. Final poker tournament information will remain in the tournament lobby for several hours after the tournament's conclusion.
Specific prize money breakdown will be shown after the registration is closed or, in the case of re-buy tournaments, after the re-buy period is over.
* If you do not take action within the first 10 minutes of play in a fun money tournament, you will be removed from the tournament.
