Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery, also some times known as Esthetic Plastic Surgery, are terms that are used interchangeably. This is a surgical specialty that corrects disfigurement caused by burns, tumor, congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, disease or injuries, improves appearance and self esteem and restores function.

Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery is mainly concerned with correcting problems and enhancing appearance of exposed areas of the body and the face. Reconstructive Plastic Surgery is another term that is used in this context mainly referring to surgical procedures that correct severe functional impairments, fix physical abnormalities, and compensate for tissue lost to trauma or surgery.
