Rapala and its world-famous line of fishing lures
Rapala is a company that has
commercially manufactured fishing lures in both
fresh and saltwater varieties since 1959. The Rapala line of fishing
lures is responsible for more world record fish caught internationally
than any other lure on the market. That is quite a laudable
accomplishment, especially considering the company had such humble
beginnings in Finland in the early 20th Century. The cold
and game-filled lakes of Scandinavia were a perfect workshop for the
creation of great angling products.
Rapala
and its line of saltwater and freshwater fishing lures are sold in
over 130 countries. Its main headquarters are based in Minnesota.
Their lightweight metal lures are famous among anglers all over the
globe for being veritable fish magnets!
Is the prestige accorded to Rapala fishing lures deserved?
The
Rapala brand is surrounded by a certain amount of prestige because its
fishing lures have caught so many tons of fish, especially world
record-setting ones. The company’s freshwater line features items such
as the 'Skitter Prop,' which has a propeller and moves across the
water like a wounded fish. The 'Husky Jerk' is able to remain
virtually motionless underwater until you jerk your line. Both lure
styles are extremely effective.
Rapala
advertises the world’s “number one saltwater hardbodied” fishing lures
in the Magnums. This lure is proven to work, not only on saltwater
fish, but on freshwater game fish as well. Northern pike and muskie,
to name just two, often do not stand a chance against them. If you've
fished for long, chances are you already own some Rapalas. If not,
what the heck are you waiting for?!
