Car Hire in StockholmGetting to Stockholm Stockholm is a little out of the way, and visitors from outside of Europe may find it easier to arrive via Frankfurt, Amsterdam or London. The citys Arlanda International airport is 42kms north of the city and mostly services regional flights, with several flights a day to Helsinki, Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, as well as regular flights to all major European cities. SAS, the national carrie,r does fly several trans-Atlantic routes, along with other selected airlines, and there are limited flights to Asian destinations. Connections to Scandinavian destinations are numerous. From the airport there are regular buses and shuttles to the city centre. Stockholm is a rail hub for Swedens SJ national service and trains run from the Centralstationen to Copenhagen, Osla, Storlien (for Trondheim) and Narvik. Several bus companies run a national network and the Cityterminalen is next to the Centralstationen. There are regular services to points all over Sweden, Norway and Finland, but concentrated more in the south. Long distance buses travel, via ferry, to cities all over Europe. Silja Line ferries depart for Helsinki and Turku from Värtahamnen. Viking Line ferries sail to Turku and Helsinki from the terminal at Tegelvikshamn. |
