Avril was discovered by Antonio “L.A.” Reid and signed
up to Arista Records when she was 16. Then, she started working
out with an album in New York, surrounded by great songwriters
and producers. But this talented young rock star wasn’t
happy enough with the way the album turned out. She moved to Los
Angeles to pursue what she really wanted. She met producer/songwriter
Cliff Magness who already worked out with great artist like Celine
Dion, Wilson Phillips and Sheena Easton. Avril Started to record
the album “Let Go” with the carrier single “Complicated”
that was released in 2002 sold over 14 million copies in the U.S.,
Australia and of course the rock stars hometown, Canada. The album
created an impressive impact to the crowed giving Avril a granny
nomination.
The Skater punk princess received a lot of praises from various
critics. Her video “Complicated” won her an MTV Video
Music Award for best New Artist in 2002.
After the success of her 1st album, Avril opens a new “dramatic
tracks” on her 2nd album called “Under my Skin”
with the Head bopping songs “Take me away”, “Together”
and “Don’t tell me” that revealed the real side
of Avril Lavigne.
