"Great hotel"
After a tiring journey by train from Rome to naples and then onto Sorrento we were very happy to see this hotel. It is a minute walk from the train station so its very convenient. Moreover it is right in the heart of the main happening area of Sorrento where all the action is so it is a wonderful location. The rooms are nice and we have 2 bedrooms. Both were good but one which was room 504 was bigger and better than the other room which if I am not mistaken was 498. The rooms and bathrooms are of average size. The bathrooms though had problems - for one both bathrooms did not have hot water.....we complained and they said that the slightly lukewarm water is what they called hot ! Except for this problem and a meagre, bad breakfast ( the worst we had in our stay) everything else was ok. There are many cafes down the street so I would recommend that you have breakfast in one of them. One superb cafe is called " Sala da ate" . It had excellent stuff. The Tiramisu and Rumbaba cakes were fantastic. Also, next to the hotel is a restraunt called "Red Lion" where you get excellent wood-fired pizzas and pastas. There is also a money changing facility in the hotel. I would stay in this hotel again if I went to Sorrento and Capri which I thought were the best places in Italy for a holiday - friendly people ( unlike in other parts of italy like Rome) and great scenery.
