Afghanistan: 25 years of humanitarian action
The ICRC has been active in Afghanistan for 25 years. Today, more than 1,000 employees carry out a wide array of humanitarian services ranging from visits to detainees to educating women and children about the risks posed by mines and unexploded ordnance. International Tracing Service and historical research

Additional emblem for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has welcomed the decision of the Diplomatic Conference held in Geneva to adopt a third protocol additional to the Geneva Conventions, creating another emblem alongside the red cross and red crescent.
