...ten/pence/short
Marcus, Paul, NolskÚ and Spence first crashed onto the scene nine years ago forming the hard rock outfit “JUMP THE GUN”. The band split in 1997 with all members joining other projects, but reformed last year to become …ten/pence/short.

A change in musical style and a more mature attitude have made a big difference to the look and the sound of the band.

Influences within the band are taken from a wide spectrum, with groups such as Metallica and Nickelback joining the echoes of groups like Creed and even Starsailor.

Long term aims for the band involve much more live work, as well as writing and recording as much as possible. The group have all agreed that fame would be fantastic but it’s the chance to play live music they want the most, and play it they will....

[Go-X]
GO - X] formed 4 years ago under the name 'Elixir' with a different drummer, between 2001 - xmas of 2004 elixir established themselves as a great local band and enjoyed some mild succsess from their first demo - "Demo..1" HOWEVER all that is trivial compared to the future plans for [GO - X] (name had to be changed for legal reasons ... bastards). With new drummer Boo Disson (ex-Odyssey) the band are writing better music than ever before and are spending the month of June in seclusion finishing off mind-blowing material. Expect thousands, nay TENS OF THOUSANDS, of shows in July and early August, and a realease by the end of said month. Exciting times for [GO - X] are on their way so be sure to be at Eddies on June 30th when it all kicks off. (big time)

* “If this CD is anything to go by, Sabiba will present a highly charged live show” -Manilla Magazine

* “Reminiscent of the Pixies” “The vocals in particular remind me of Frank Black” - ShadowPlay Fanzine

16 Bronsons
Formed in 1996 at southdowns college nr Portsmouth, we quickly made a name for ourselves on the local and surrounding music scene, we've/our sound has been described as Motorhead/Nirvana but faster, Much faster! we decided to call it a day in 2001 after a huge alcohol induced ruck on stage at the Airballoon venue in Portsmouth.
In the time we were together we played many many gigs around the south supporting some great bands like 'Stiff little fingers, The yo yo's, the jellies, Tampasm' to name a few, we also had gig of the week in the EXPRESS news paper, which was nice. we appeared on a number of compilation albums both local and international, one being for ZIP RECORDS USA.
Its now 2005 and we've decided to get back together and play some gigs, we've got new songs, old songs and we plan to take to the stage real soon and rip this town apart!!!

After Andrew's Cobbling business fell through and my dreams were shattered, we needed to make some cash". And that they did. The Band were saved by Rock n roll and have never looked back.

An Early Sunset
Currently recording at our basic home studio, An early sunset consisting of Tim Brayshaw (Guitar and vocals), Anthony Smith (Bass and vocals)and now Dominic Rudd (Drums). We've been writing music for 2 years or so, and now feel that what we are writing is much more worthy of public release and would love to get it out there. All living in Sheffield, it makes it relatively for us to get together and jam, but when this is not possible we write music whenever we can and join all our ideas together when we are in each others company. But what is best is when we sit there with a clean sheet, clean mind and build a song from the foundations together.

Beat Takeshi
- Mixing Zen like tranquillity with skull shattering violence -

When we saw that written on a video box it seemed to summarise the kind of music we were writing. The director of the film was ' Beat ' Takeshi Kitano. As we began crafting our music, pulling in influences from smashing pumpkins, The Doors, Fugazi and Queen Adreena one thing remained clear - diversity in sounds. We are new, we are different, we are Beat Takeshi.

Blacklight Project
Rising from the ashes of "Borderline", David Hastings and Chris McAnaney get ready in their promising new band, "Blacklight Project" :
Effortlessly fusing together a range of musical styles, and taking influences from everything from modern indie, new wave punk and grunge to brutal industrial and trance, the band form songs which are energetic, lively, individual while still retaining accessablility to anyone and everyone. :

Clever lyrical hooks, agressive guitar, subtle electronics, strong percussion are all factors which contribute to the Blacklight sound. From "live once more" with its drop tuned riffs and "red shift" a genre defying metal/dance track to "the end of nothing", a rock track with electronic undertones and the hauntng introduction to "echoes" the style of Blacklight Project is as versatile as it is musically adventurous and difficult to catergorise. :

Blakfish
To sum BlakFish up using other people's words, imagine the energy of At the Drive In with the melody writing ability of RX Bandits / Biffy Clyro with lyrics that have been compared to that of Leonard Cohen. BRUTAL DELUXE
BRUTAL DELUXE
Formed in 1997, BRUTAL DELUXE quickly gained recognition for taking to the stage barefooted, bedecked in their tribalistic warpaint and pounding their audience into submission with their dynamic live performance. They were signed in 1999 to Dream Catcher records and released their debut album "Divine Head" in early 2000.It received wide critical acclaim and the band was hailed as a great British hope.
The band toured through 2000 with the likes of Raging Speedhorn,Kill II This and Napalm Death and received great reviews...the future looked secure. Things however, didn’t quite go to plan.
BRUTAL DELUXE started 2001 with a headline tour through the UK, culminating in a filmed live show for MTV2 in London. Just prior to this show the band suffered a serious blow when all their equipment was stolen. This brought to a head strained relationships in the band, the end result being the departure of bassist, Toad.
New blood was soon found and the band managed to move forward with the help of Marshall amplification and Richmo custom drums. They performed to 12,000 people at the Bulldog bash with The Wildhearts and Feeder and continued to tour through 2001. The band then recorded their second album in 2002; "Mistah Kurz...he dead". The album received good reviews but through lack of promotion it hardly made it to the shops. Disenchanted, the band split from Dream Catcher records and decided to take stock, rally the troops and basically travel the world.
BRUTAL DELUXE's approach is one of extreme dynamics. One minute gently stroking your cheek, the next kicking you squarely in the nuts. They lull the audience with passages of melancholic quiet and then explode in your face like John Holmes! .....Brutal and yet, somehow...deluxe.
BRUTAL DELUXE have now returned with renewed vigour and new tracks recorded at the band's own studio. The songs reflect the band's personal and collective struggles, wrapped in the experiences of their travels.
They're back and this time they're taking no prisoners! In space no one can hear you scream. Be afraid..be very afraid etc etc. Basically, balls to all that bollox..... enjoy the new tracks.

CARMEN PIMPS
What do we sound like? You ask “Like Led Zeppelin playing the Stone Temple Pilots house warming party whilst Janes Addiction regales in tales of Guns n Roses exuberant and indulgent past”.

I am proud to introduce to you an explosive U.K band that is finally prepared to pull “Mule Britannia” kicking and screaming in to the 21st century. . .
The ‘Pimps’ are a 4 piece rock band who have exploded on the rock scene with powerful vocals and guitar licks, percussions and bass that pull you right into their music and beyond. You will be transformed and give testament that, not only does this band rock, but “They’re Here!”
With gigs at The Metro and all round the London circuit and UK, the train has well and truly left the station. Punch your ticket now and take the ride of a lifetime. You’ll be glad you did.

Influences from the bands stated above have been absorbed whilst trying to sculpt and create something a little more vital, more powerful and refreshing to the current crop of “Blands” they see saturating the current rock scene, and there is nothing bland or blasé about the Carmen Pimps.
Already creating quite a stir in the London music scene, they are one of the very few British bands that have been taken to heart by the American public. Legendary Rock photographer Chad Lee has called them “The best pieces of Led Zeppelin and Guns N Roses.”

The Carmen Pimps consists of

Lee Brown -Bass
Dean Hilborne - Drums
Steve Pipe - Vocals
Eddie Ring - Guitars.

So kick back, and get ready

Demode
Demode formed November 2004 due to Lewis and Sam wanting to find another guitarist and a bassist to fullfil their musical aspirations. Jack immediately jumped at the opportunity to play with two of his best friends and shortly after Chris then joined making the band complete. Demode's sound could be classed as Emo/Pop punk but with all members taste in music varying from blues to screamo their sound is always going to be set apart from the stereotypical genres. Demode are a unique sound made by blending many different genres and ideas then coming up with a load of their own. Melodic vocals, intricate use of two vocalists and catchy riffs is just a few aspects of demode that give them their "big" sound and definately makes them a band to see.

ELEVEN
Hailing from picturesque North-Devon town of Barnstaple, ELEVEN grew from the jamming of brothers Steve and Chris Tanton (Drums and Guitar respectively).

When Steve left for College in London, the end of the band looked nigh. But he returned with a burning desire to complete the band that the brothers had started. After some initial line-up changes, ELEVEN started 2006 as they mean to go on with the charismatic Ryan Butler (Lead Vocals and Guitar) fronting the band and the multitalented Tom Kyle on Bass.

All aged between 18 and 20, ELEVEN have already got an enormous following in the West country following some packed out gigs and the support of local Radio. In 2005 they played the Gold Coast Oceanfest in front of a crowd of 3,000 and went on to win the Big Night Out competition. The band have gone on to play storming gigs in London at the Metro, Garage, Telegraph and Half Moon. There has been massive airplay from Pulse Rated FM and glowing reviews from around the country.

So far ELEVEN have been likened to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Puddle Of Mudd, The Police, Maroon 5, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Beach Boys and Sublime. The three part harmonies and excellent musicianship give them an unmistakable sound and the riffs will stick in your head like songs you’ve always known.

2006 holds the prospect of ELEVEN’s first UK tour, national radio airplay and some great after show parties!

If you like the sound of ELEVEN and would like to know more please contact me at Ravenous Promotions.

Flylow

Helsinki/Finland based FLYLOW has been in existence for a little bit over 12 months. In that timeframe the band has gone from strength to strength. After a couple of years working the stars and bars of Finland, learning their chops and throwing the right shapes the band signed with UK-Finland based Parole Records in May 2004. September 2004 saw the their debut EP enter the Finnish national charts at No 7, the ensuing load of press (even Hustler had a 4-page special on the band, I only buy it for the articles myself), TV, radio and live shows, some big and some not so big, honed the band’s already formidable live reputation to international standards, as witnessed by 3 excellently received shows in NYC (Lit Lounge, Sin-é & Knitting Factory). The band drawing so much energy from these shows that it was decided that the album should be recorded in New York (well Brooklyn actually, right next to the Brooklyn Bridge).

In January 2005 the band basically took up residence in the Alien Media Studios NY under the charge of producers Steve Krucher and Vincent Cimino for basic tracking & production. Although a relatively new production team Steve and Vinnie are, as NewYorkers say, connected, having in the past worked for a variety of name rock acts in numerous capacities other than just production. Sebastian Bach, Janet Jackson, Alice Cooper, The Pretenders, Sinead O’Connor, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Nebula have all been touched by that special Steve and Vinnie madness. Speaking of Steve and Vinnie's madness they roped in various friends to guest on the album like Mark Pender (Max Weinberg 7) and Manny Focarazzo (Alan Parson’s Project). After a couple of months serious studio work the tracks were sent to UK for postproduction & mixing overseen by Paul Whitrow, at Bristol, England. Paul in his time has worked on numerous projects, including The Mission, Psychedelic Furs, Stranglers and many more. Mastering was taken care of by John Dent, at the legendary LOUD. John’s credits is like reading Who's Who of Contemporary Music (Björk, Nick Cave, Cult, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey, Bob Marley, Prodigy, U2 etc.)

Bridges debuted at 25 on the Finnish national chart, a strong showing for a basically non pop, relatively unknown band. Embarking on a whirlwind of TV radio and live shows, somewhat larger this time around. As a precursor to the band’s first UK tour in July 2005 the band rocked the prestigious Bowery Ballroom in NYC receiving both an audience and critical response reserved for bands much higher up the food chain. A response echoed in the UK, culminating in one of the best received performances witnessed at the Ashton Court festival at Bristol (UK). The tour was voted a huge success by both punter and press, press on both sides of the Atlantic have been heaping praise on the band. Bristol Evening Post's headed a 2-pages interview picture feature with the banner FIN-TASTIC FOUR! A gig review in the same paper proclaimed large "FINNS KNOW HOW TO ROCK!": going on to add, “Flylow were the tightest, rockiest band I have heard in Bristol for a long time. Their songs sounded like they were written for stadium events”. Flylow will continue to support the Bridges album’s release in other international territories in the spring of 2006. So lock up your penguins, Flylow’s second UK tour started in January 2006 and will continue till early summer. Album will be released in UK in April 2006.

Never professing to have reinvented the wheel, Flylow have one hell of a time on stage and invite you along for the ride, the music I guess was once upon a time called power pop, but is so much more, it rocks. A back beat that is as thunderous as the belly of a whale hitting the ocean provided by Jay Mattila on drums aided and abetted by Marko Haataja’s rooted to the beat bass playing. Over this is laid harmony vocals led by Luke Kaarto, set off by the controlled but insane pyrotechnics of lead guitarist Paul Hauta-aho. The songs have as much energy as a nuclear power station and more hooks than Hellraiser I-II & III. And young ladies tell me they are cuter than a barrel of naked Hobbits. You can't write about this band, you have to experience it. Um perhaps not the naked hobbits..... unless that floats your boat...

Pooling their talents and mutual interests and influences they soon found their own sound and "From Day One" was born as a vehicle for expression as well as creating good music.

Role:- Rytham and vocal
[Chris Dandy]
Role:-Lead guitar
[Jonny Harrison]
Role:- Drums

The band started when lead guitarist, Chris Dandy, jammed out with drummer Jonny Harrison and rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Tom. Thats how FULLY RIGGED was formed. After a while we came up with our swan song; Wishing Well, which soon became known through playing in college as the college band. Gauge
A Brief History of Gauge

“This four piece have only been playing together as the current line up for a few months and are already well on their way to great things”. Surge Music. 2005.

Made up of Ant on vocals, Stu on guitar, Mark on Bass and Chris on drums, the band initially got together purely for the love of writing and playing music after previously all being in other bands. Through these four members, a variety of influences have been bought to the table encapsulating many aspects of alternative and rock. The band soon realised that they had stumbled upon something special. Not trying to imitate or play a particular genre, the band just play whatever feels right at the time. This gives the band a unique and diverse sound that is reminiscent of the ‘Seattle’ grunge of the early nineties but in no way derivative.

“And, for a band that’s ‘just going with the flow’, the flow seems to going in the right direction”. The Mercury 2005

Studio time was booked almost immediately with the first two track CD being recorded in April 2005, a little over a month following the birth of Gauge. Prolific in their song writing yet with each track possessing its own uniqueness and strength, Gauge soon had a set long enough and strong enough that the
band were itching to play to an audience.

Gauge have since been busy gigging in and around the Midlands with an ever enthusiastic following. The second two songs were recorded during July 2005 and put with the previous two songs to form the ‘All Lies’ EP. The creation of this EP is a landmark moment for the band and has led to a belief that Gauge are ready to take things to the next level with both its music and aspirations.

The future of Gauge remains to be written, but with an awe inspiring yet unbelievably catchy set of songs, Gauge are already making waves. This is a band that must be heard and definitely won’t disappoint.

Review:

More fine music and further proof that not everyone in Essex is an aspiringcelebrity hairdresser or a Reebok Classic clad inbred oik. In this case, 26 year old Lee Yates a.k.a Idée Fixe who hails from East Tilbury. Amidst the blissed out haze of the five tracks on offer here we get a snatches of a budget Kid Loco, reverb drenched rim shots, hushed vocals and a definite 4a.m I'm-still-fucked-on-the-drugs-where-have-my-mates-gone?...vibe to it. Melancholy chill out of the highest calibre.

lobelia blue
We are Lobelia Blue, an ambitious, dedicated four-piece band from Bolton. The band consists of Rik Hughes (lead vocals, guitar), Andy Sheridan (lead guitar, backing vocals), Martin Holsted (drums) and Ste Nightingale (bass, backing vocals). We have been playing music and writing songs for the last two years and play regular gigs around the Northwest including The Roadhouse, The Dry Bar, The Witchwood and Bolton University. Included in these gigs was a support slot for touring Aussie Band Rocket Science at The Roadhouse. We have had good feedback from all of these gigs both from the fans and the local press:-

“Headline act Lobelia Blue are a group of local musicians who definitely know how to play together. From the outset it was obvious these guys know each other very well and have been together for some time….” Student Direct Bolton.

As well as the above gigs we also stage our own events in Bolton, which involves finding support, providing and operating the PA equipment and promoting the gig. These events are always lively and well attended.

We all play a part in creating our songs but it is Rik and Andy who have taken the main role in song writing, and we now have over thirty completed songs, 15 of which recorded and available for demo.

In the past our music has been categorised as Rock, Grunge, Punk, and on some occasions Blues. The diversity in our style is understandable considering the many influences of music and culture we have experienced. From the Rolling Stones to the Delgados, from The Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Libertines, we all have respect and admiration for our own and each others tastes, but never let that dominate Lobelia Blue’s own individual sound.

We are now looking to take our music to the next level by playing to larger audiences and working hard to create a credible debut album.

MorissonPoe is an up and coming band which successfully completed this task. Their latest release flaunts the band’s ability to use influences from numerous musical genres in creating a powerful sound that is uniquely their own. My Friend Juliet
The band formed in Summer 2003. Finding the band members was simple, Rich and Mike are brothers and Sam their cousin. The search for a forth member did not take long, as Zeb and Sam were old school friends.

By the end of 2003, the band had played several local gigs and began to form a loyal fan base. In early 2004, My Friend Juliet were invited to play at a local festival called “Spinkfest” at the Scarborough Kazbah. Not only did the band get the best crowd of the day, they caught the eye of No Code Music, the venues promoters. No Code were eager to get the band back, and so My Friend Juliet were confirmed as support for Easyworld, who were touring to promote their new album “kill the last romantic” and top 40 single in February.

Again, My Friend Juliet impressed, and were asked back to support the Futureheads in March. By this point, My Friend Juliet had established themselves as a serious up-and-coming band. Throughout 2004, My Friend Juliet gigged in Leeds, York, Sheffield, Middlesbrough, Manchester and many local towns, building on their ever-growing local and national fan base. By the end of the year, the band had won a local battle of the bands and had been filmed by the BBC recording their forthcoming EP.

Each member of the band has slightly different musical tastes, however, within the band there is a mutual love of bands such as Biffy Clyro, Hell is for Heroes, My Vitriol, Rival Schools etc.

My Friend Juliet have just released their debut EP which has already received fantastic feedback. The band are determined to be playing gigs and spreading their music on a national scale by the end of 2005.

“My Friend Juilet are without doubt the most accomplished band in the area. Amazing - 90%” The Vibe on the EP.

“Not a band to turn your nose up to!” Daveit Ferris - The Mascara Story

The whole thing is well worked, cleverly structured and very professionally handled. It's on repeat play as I write 'cause it's that moreish." Toxicpete.co.uk on the EP.

My Girl Sleeps
Since getting together in the summer of 2002, My Girl Sleeps (MGS) have been busy learning their craft and building a loyal fan base through extensive live performances all over the UK.
Along the way they have picked up many accolades including winning ITV 1’s ‘Music Uncovered’ and the National Battle of the Bands title. Now they are ready to try and fulfil their ambition of becoming one of the UK’s leading rock bands.

The first couple of years saw MGS follow the well-trodden path of local and national gigging, self financed EP’s and lots of new material being developed to create a sound that was unmistakably MGS.Early in 2004 the band signed a one album deal with Liverpool label Chromium Records. The album, titled ‘A Short Distance to Nowhere’, received some rave reviews and became very popular throughout the internet independent rock sites. Unfortunately a lack of funding did not allow a full release but that did not stop good levels of sales to fans in both the UK and US.2004 was turning into a good year for MGS and the band were really pleased with three live television appearances on ITV show ‘Music Uncovered’ which they ended up winning with 56% of the live finals public vote. This led to headline gigs at well-known venues like Camden Barfly and Northampton Roadmender, as well as their first big festival appearance at Guilfest, which really started to widen the band’s fan base.

2005 also started well when MGS won the National BOTB final at the Wolverhampton Civic hall in front of 1500 music fans. The competition, which ran for a year and included over 400 of the UK’s best up and coming bands, gave them a growing confidence that they were progressing in the right direction as the panel of industry expert judges made them comfortable winners. Industry recognition has continued to increase with labels in the UK and the US showing keen interest in the band’s progress. With several festival appearances lined up for the summer alongside some of rock’s legends and their first headline at the B91 festival, MGS are looking forward to further progress through 2005.

While a record deal remains on their agenda the band is in no rush to put pen to paper. They all agree that the live scene is where they really want to excel and it’s performing live for the fans, which will always be their top priority.

NEVERFALL
Steve: Vocals
Alex: Guitar
Chris: Guitar
Paul: Bass
Mike: Drum
Neverfall are a modern, 5 piece rock band. Formed in the spring of 2003, the line up was finalised when Mike joined up to create a truly unique act.
When the band first got together, we decided straight away that we didn’t want to be another typical screaming metal act that has become so common and out dated. We wanted to create up beat, rock music with a heavy edge to it. The bands influences are pretty diverse, ranging from Audioslave, RHCP to RATM & Incubus.
Each member of Neverfall has a wealth of experience, playing in different bands around the country. We all have our own influences and strengths that we bring to our music.

Nothing
...superb rock beasts NOTHING's sound is akin to a distortion heavy Bitches Brew cut through with Iron Maiden riffs and Mars Volta madness all hammered into one awesome shape and played with amps up on eleven. - Live review, White Hart, Brentwood, Essex, March 2004

Two brilliant guitarists, a fantastic front-man and a lot of good tunes. Singer Steve is an entire show by himself, strangling the noise out of his guitar and screaming his lungs out, shaking like a man caught in a bear trap, while axe-man Colin is the sober ying to his raging yang, strumming quietly along beside him.
There is a fantastic depth to their material. The songs range from all-out power to blissful, chilled out jams, which separate the set nicely.
- Thurrock Gazzette Live Review

The title track is what we've come to recognise as 'classic' NOTHING - rambling vocals and intense guitar work creating a unique and rather surreal soundscape.

Ostracoda
OSTRACODA are a hard rock band from Norwich, Norfolk, UK - an original group playing melodic, hook-laden songs with rock, metal and punk influences. We are a five-piece and the members vary in age from 24 - 32 comprising of: Dan Kelby on vocals, Adam Syson on guitar, David Donley on drums and percussion, Justin Brand on second guitar and Byron McGill on bass. We play original, powerful, melodic hard rock influenced by the great guitar bands of the 80’s and 90’s and are fuelled by passion, drive and a desire to inject something fresh into the current music scene.

We formed in summer 2003 and are regulars on the Norwich live circuit, which has enabled us to play every local venue in the city from the Ferryboat Inn to the Waterfront, Arts Centre and UEA LCR. We have also entertained many venues across the country and have just made our debut on the London circuit at Soho’s Arts Theatre Bar where we drew a large Sunday crowd enabling us to return to the capital in December. Regular early rehearsals yielded an explosion of songs culminating in our first two EPs: 2003’s ‘Routine of the In-between’, 2004’s ‘Thief of Today’ and recently our newest release; 2005’s ‘A Tag/A Brand/A Label’. All of our music has been very well received and, due to the powerful and confrontational nature of our live shows, our CDs have sold out consistently at these events. The quality and ‘hookiness’of Ostracoda’s songs has also given us some great radio airplay: both close to home in Derbyshire and London and as far afield as Washington DC, (on DC-101) and Chicago, IL (Hostage Radio).

2004 also saw us film, edit and author our very first independent DVD which comprises of live footage, biography, a photo gallery, poster gallery and more. I produce all of the band’s artwork myself in-house for our releases, website and merchandise which as you can imagine is very cost-effective and enables us to keep close tabs on our image. Our website is located at www.ostracoda.com and has proven extremely popular as much for its striking visuals as for its content, which features up-to-date gig listings, a full biography and gigography, photo galleries, artwork galleries, MP3 downloads, a message board where fans can talk and interract with the band and the chance to sign up for the band’s mailing list.

As a band, we feel the music scene in the UK, particularly in the rock and mainstream arenas, has become tired and stale through cynical, cash-hungry repackaging of long gone genres and championing of so-called ‘fashion-core’ bands, to whom music plays a secondary part to image, indulgence and clichéd celebrity antics. Collectively we believe in many things: perhaps the strongest bond between the members being our love and appreciation for music that is made with passion, honesty, power and truth.

RID OF ME
THE CANVAS;
Music is that rhetorical place filled with dreams, hopes and influence. Be it doused in angst or flavoured with happiness it will always find a following. As the structured lines of music begin to get blurred (with the definition of pop and rock being diluted slowly through modern times) these Themes change - Sometimes the more feral form of music is the only way to truly progress with the different instances of sound. We'd call ourselves quietly optimistic with our music, arrogance doesn't cross our paths - who wants to become the best band in the world, isnt' that a massive weight to bare?. We all just want to create and enjoy; our formula to the way we approach our music. A blank canvas standing in the middle of the room, and all of us are carrying paintball gun's.

THE VOICE;
With the menaceing beat and the outspoken voice , the sound of Rid Of Me is at times energetic, at times emotional but the only ultimate constant is rawness. Like some twin headed Grunge/Punk monster we have arisen to bring back the filth in music. With that we all stand with one voice - Bring music with velocity and we'll make it crash.

THE SOUND;
Music is a constant - A rhetorical being that will always live and breathe, there won't be an option to let it die, because if it dies creativity jumps ship with it and without creativity we all become drones - Emotion carried through notes and sound - The sonic avalanche of thoughts. With this you can let Rid of Me move a little closer and whisper in your ears.

-THROUGH MUSIC-

SPECIAL MOVE
UKHC veterans Special Move formed from the ashes of Up Against It, who along with bands such as Public Disturbance, Knuckledust and Stampin Ground formed part of the 95-96 wave of UKHC. From the same Essex scene that has spawned Unite and Raiden, Special Move are the only EBD still going strong in 2003, and are on the brink of releasing their second CD.
Think fast, straight ahead hardcore with a new school edge that diversifies but never dominates their sound. Then go see them live and be cracked up by their between song antics, these boys are truly jokers in an age when hardcore takes itself way too seriously. They don’t fuck around when it comes to their music though…

Speedy and fun, this is very close to Pantera meets Slayer but they just have a great time especially the frontman who with his long shouts and leaning poses makes you think there must be a glam band missing their singer somewhere. I have had a rather bazaar life so far. A life so unusual it is worthy of documenting. And so I set about writing some sketchy songs to highlight the most bazaar, enjoyable, damn right strange, and unconventional moments of my life. With the help of a whole host of talented musicians and singers from every corner of the world, the album was born.

Superreal
So what do they sound like?Well....them! A unique combination of low slung sleazy guitar riffs, pounding drum beats and choruses to die for. Three vocalists with a mix of raw power and sweet harmonies front the band whioch gives a good blend of male and female vocals. Every chorus is catchy, every riff is powerful, yet strangely melodic...this is the best part of many bands all combined into a lethal music cocktail. Remember the name, remember the songs...otherwise once you've heard them you'll be humming them all day without knowing where you first heard them!

Terminally Bewildered
The band's initial roots stem from 2003, whilst both Andy Hart & Andy Bull were at the same college. Andy Hart had already been playing the guitar for a few years, and although Andy Bull couldn't play any instrument at the time, they both had a passion for the same style of music.

Throughout the college years a number of bands cropped up within their circle of friends, although the main inspiration to start a band of their own was from Green Day. Both enjoyed the power, meaning and general fun their songs provided, and as a result Andy Bull bought his first bass guitar and started teaching himself how to play.

Throughout 2004, after-college practises became a regular tradition. Andy Bull's house was the venue, where performances of Green Day covers would take place. Realising they both worked well together musically, they decided to take things further, writing simple 3-chord riffs of their own.

As the months progressed, the level of enthusiasm for music grew and grew. Practises had now moved to Andy Hart's garage, where more space and better equipment meant further dedication to songwriting. Sure enough, this paid off, and the band's first song "Spastic" came to light.

The duo have been writing a mass of material since early 2005. Now actively looking for a drummer to complete the line-up, Terminally Bewildered hope to start gigging in the new year of 2006.

To be continued...

Combining the architectural beauty of post rock groups such as Sigur Ros, Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky with the gut-wrenching drive of progressive metal behemoths Tool, Isis and Pelican, and the prog ethics of Pink Floyd and The Mars Volta, the Airstrip One are the light at the end of a tunnel, the silver lining of an otherwise black cloud, the single blossoming flower amidst the carnage of a battlefield. The Morenas
The Morenas Biography

Formed out of a mutual passion for music, vocalist/guitarist Paolo Morena, Drummer Steve Wilson and Bassist Tim Jackson are the Morenas; a fresh, groove-orientated powerhouse encapsulating Paolo’s raw and eclectic vocal style, inspired in part by his travels through Europe and beyond.

Their first meeting came from Paolo’s search to find like minded musicians to complete his dream of a band intent on pushing musical boundaries, first with Steve at a Francis Dunnery concert and then Tim at a local studio where the three of them rehearsed unaware of the imminent connection.

After a year of dedicated rehearsals and unrelenting touring the band, together with a group of local entrepreneurs created the label Bleach Records as a vehicle to aid the Morenas in their journey towards success. Never a band intent on standing still, they write music that makes you get up move. Not just because of the rhythm filled grooves or the addictively outrageous bass lines. Not even for the stage presence of front man Paolo Morena. Merely, the Morenas are a great British rock band producing music that they; like many others, want to hear.

Music like this shapes generations

Tytania
Having gone by several previous names, Tytania have now started to make their mark on the Leeds music scene with their unique rock-punkish sound, something which is quickly drawing interest from all sides.

Originally formed in 2003, band practice instantly became a hobby. Before long Tytania were performing covers of songs past and present before crowds in nearby clubs and bars. Their dedication was evident when the band began writing their own songs. "War Games" and "Awaken" are two numbers Tytania has every right to boast about.

The band are fast on their way to more studio recording sessions and live performances. With two self-produced CDs already at the production stage, small time or big time, Tytania are a band who are here to stay.

The band itself consists of five musicians, each specialised in their own position. The singer of Tytania is Richard Brown. Richard performs vocals on all of the band's songs. With his adaptable voice and unique dress code, he is undoubtadly the face of Tytania.

The band features two talented guitarists and one bass guitarist. Luke Goodwin, Adam Winnard and Tom Ingham make up the strings section of Tytania. Instrumentals and interludes from the trio are worth paying attention to and give Tytania's music an exceptional signature.

The drums & percussion seat is taken up by Joe Earnshaw. Innovative and educated would be words best suited to Joe. Having being the drummer of the band since the get-go, he's the artist always ready to go off at a tangent and make any concept into a musical reality.

Tytania is a group with a noteworthy sound. If you jump on any band-wagon this year, be sure to make it Tytania.

Young Astronauts Club
Young Astronauts Club is led by singer / guitarist / multi-instrumentalist / lyricist / producer / "musical genius" Neil P. Howlett. In fact, on recording, sometimes it's just him.

The band never really had a definite start date, it just sort of 'happened', through a series of events, and existed and had a following and recordings before anyone in it was really old enough to know what was actually happening - bands started, people left, new names were decided upon, new line-ups were formed, and etcetera, as many bands happen...but the story of Young Astronauts Club definitely began in the early 1990's in the Boston, Massachusetts area. Howlett, who had moved to the U.S. in 1987 with his parents at age 12, eventually began recording and performing with various groups, making his live debut in front of thousands of people at barely age 16.

Eventually, as band line-ups came and went, Howlett, who was initially just a guitarist, made the transition to singer / guitarist, which was a logical move, as he was already writing most of the music and lyrics. A few line-ups later, the band adopted the moniker of Young Astronauts Club, a name which Howlett saw in a magazine his younger brother brought home from school one day. Said Neil: "It just suited the music. Lyrically, I was writing about suburban adolescent themes...alienation, frustration, the desire to escape, that sort of thing...it just fit. I figured, what better place to escape to than space, away from Earth, where all the problems are. So 'Young Astronauts Club' was perfect. I also named it that because, subconsciously, I think I always wanted to be either a rock star or an astronaut. This way, I could be both."

Eventually, the band released a series of recordings, performing to sold out clubs in the Boston area and the northeastern United States, and getting plenty of exposure via the 'underground' music scene in America and throughout the world, recording songs that would 'influence' [or be ripped of by, whichever words you choose to use] some major-selling artists during the 1990's, including Nine Inch Nails, Chris Cornell, and Everclear. says Howlett of this: "If this is true, I am very flattered that these artists would consider my / our work worthy enough to borrow from, even if we did get next to no money or credit for it...it's nice to know that I am doing something that matters musically, that has an impact of some sort, hopefully positive, on culture as a whole. I'm really grateful that I can do this at all, there are so many people who are probably way better than me at it, and are doing a lot less."

Over the course of the 1990's and into the 2000's, the live and studio versions of Young Astronauts Club and related projects have featured many highly noted musicians, including: Neil P. Howlett [of course], Crystal Howlett, Gabe Aguilar, T.W. Walsh, Andrew Basile, Glen Anderson, Gregory Ferreira, Brendan Kenty, Owen Beane, Jeff Graceffa, Mike Taggart, Michael Graney, Bryan Bourque, Darron Burke, Gail Corcoran, Jason Cammaratta, Banu Sonmez, John Beck, Sasha Veneziano, Jarboe, Fionn Howlett, Jeshua Morrealle, Geoff Wilson, Micah Howeson, Koji Mabuchi, Jacob MacDonald, Keith Miner, Neal Dike, John Healey, and others.

Young Astronauts Club has also spawned many groups including former members. We dare you to do a search for each person listed above, and see how many you can come up with!

Currently, Neil P. Howlett is living in Dublin, Ireland again, where he is writing / composing furiously, and doing his utmost to bring you a new recording some time in the future, the best one ever, possibly even a new live band. He can also be found playing solo quasi-acoustic gigs around Dublin in the meantime.

Stay tuned to this page for further details as they happen.

Thanks for stopping in!!

ZEANO
‘….captivate the ear, twist the brain and rock the gut….’ Musician magazine

‘…explosive live sound…’Essex Chronicle

The key to any successful band is great songs combined with a live show to “wow”. Zeano have this. Their ability to send any audience away filled with an enormous sense of joy, that they have just seen a truly great band, is few and far between these days.
The energy and enjoyment the band themselves receive from performing their songs is clearly evident watching them and the passion can also be heard through the recordings.
It’s pure rock! No synthesised, nu-metal pop/rock electronically produced and refined like a scientific product. No depressing acoustic indie. No sloppy, roughly recorded neo-punk trash. It’s about feeling and real music. Old school!
The band members, ranging from 19-26 all live around the Essex/East London area. Dale (Vocals), Tim (Guitar), Craig (Drums) and Joe (Bass) take their influences from far and wide to combine into the ultimate sound. The guys love what they do and will stop at nothing to achieve their dream…..being up there, and remembered.....as one of the greatest rock bands ever!
Zeano have gigged throughout the UK, received radio play on numerous radio stations (tracks and interviews), been approached by record companies, managers, producers and publishing companies and appeared in newspapers and magazines including Musician and NME.
Zeano’s single ‘You could be Perfect has been released through the Fastrax system to every independent radio station in the UK. The downloads from DJ’s increase noticeably every month
The fan base and industry interest increases daily and the time is coming where everyone will have heard of Zeano.
Waiting for the right deal, Zeano are poised for success on a massive scale!

Zombie 6ixty-5ive!
Born out of pure frustration at the splitting and labelling of the Rock Genre, Zombie 6ixty-5ive! got together to bring all their favourite Rock styles together to produce a very aggressive & melodic form of musical violence. There are not many bands around that write with aggression and keep harmonic melodies intact.
Zombie 6ixty-5ive! have arrived. For something very different and refreshingly pure, look no further. It's coming your way, very soon.
