Welcome to Legends, Wine and High Country (Ned Kelly Country)
Amongst the legendary characters from the past that roam this beautiful region is Ned Kelly, the infamous bushranger. He has a history in many of these towns. You may follow his trail and know of his exploits and come to understand why he became a folk hero.
Today, this region is home to some of the finest of wines. Six wine growing regions have established themselves within the lowlands and the alpine valleys. The climatic conditions of each have influenced a tantalising range of wine styles.
But if it is adventure you are looking for, the mountainous regions will afford you access to ski fields and trails, abseiling, caving, white water rafting and paragliding.
