Northwest Airlines Biz Perks® Terms and Conditions

General Conditions

  1. Participation in the Biz Perks®("Program") Program is limited to small and mid-size companies ("Company"). Corporations with a Preferred Carrier Agreement with Northwest Airlines/KLM, travel agencies, wholesalers, consolidators, and other sellers of travel are not eligible for Biz Perks. Northwest Airlines reserves the right to determine the eligibility of the Company.
  2. Northwest Airlines reserves the right to change any aspect of the Biz Perks Program at any time with or without notice. This right includes, but is not limited to, changes in rules for earning Program awards and point redemption values. In addition, rules of the program, cities served, flight schedules, limited seating or space availability, restricted travel dates and specific features of promotional offers are subject to change with or without notice at the discretion of Northwest Airlines. Northwest Airlines reserves the right to discontinue the Biz Perks Program with 90 days’ notice to its members. Should the Program be terminated, the Company's right to accrue points and redeem awards will be terminated 90 days after notice is given.
  3. The Company must comply with and ensure that employees adhere to all terms and conditions of the Program.

Enrollment

  1. To become eligible, the Company or Travel Agency (on behalf of the Company) must complete an enrollment form for Biz Perks, including Company and Travel Agency contact information. There is no charge to enroll in the Biz Perks Program. Northwest Airlines will determine the Company's eligibility based on the information provided in the registration form. Companies that have an existing Preferred Carrier Agreement with Northwest Airlines/KLM or who exceed $400,000 annual air travel on Northwest/KLM, are not eligible for the Program. If such a Company enrolls in the Program, any trips booked through Biz Perks do not count toward any existing corporate agreements, including but not excluded to revenue goals. Similarly, any trips booked under the conditions of a Preferred Carrier Agreement are not eligible for Program awards.
  2. Each Company must designate one employee (the "Travel Contact") who will administer the Biz Perks account as the company's representative. The Travel Contact is responsible for ensuring participating employees' adherence to the terms and conditions of this program and all relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Once approved, the Company will be assigned a unique Biz Perks ID via e-mail within 2 business days of enrollment. If provided, the Company's designated Travel Agency will also receive notification of the Biz Perks ID. The Travel Contact is responsible for notifying participating employees of the Company's Biz Perks ID. It is the traveler's responsibility to communicate their Biz Perks ID to their Travel Agent or Northwest Reservations at time of booking in order to earn points.
  4. Participating employees who purchase tickets on nwa.com must be registered in the travel profile on the Biz Perks web site. The Travel Contact may register employees on the web site and is responsible for notifying Northwest Airlines on the Biz Perks web site when new eligible employees are added or when an employee has left the Company and the employee's travel is no longer eligible.
  5. The Travel Contact is responsible for advising Northwest Airlines of any changes in the company's information by updating the company profile on the Web site. Northwest Airlines will not be responsible for lost, destroyed or misdirected mail or other communications, or any consequences thereof.

Earning program rewards

  1. Only eligible tickets and coupons purchased and flown after date of enrollment and used for company business are eligible for credit in the Program. The company´s tickets can be eligible to earn Biz Perks points by having the Company´s Travel Agency or NW Reservations put the Company´s Biz Perks ID number in the tour code field of the ticket. In addition, tickets must have a participating employee´s WorldPerks number to be eligible to earn points. Travelers purchasing tickets at nwa.com must be a registered traveler in the company´s traveler profile and will use their WorldPerks number to sign in to nwa.com. Tickets purchased on nwa.com through the business travel path will automatically insert the applicable Biz Perks ID in the tour code field to ensure proper credit is awarded.
  2. The Company's eligible sales will be tracked by Northwest Airlines and based on flown revenue. The Company is awarded one (1) point for $1 USD spent on purchased leisure fares to/from Minneapolis, Memphis or Detroit, three (3) points for $1 USD spent on purchased leisure fares to/from all other destinations, ten (10) points for $1 USD spent on purchased business fares to/from Minneapolis, Memphis or Detroit, or thirty (30) points for $1 USD spent on purchased business fares to/from all other destinations. Tickets purchased in Canada or Mexico will be converted to US dollars to calculate points.
  3. Points are calculated on base fares (selling fare, net of all taxes and fees), prorated per flight segment, and rounded down to the nearest whole number. Entire trip must be completed in order to receive points. Points expire on Dec. 31st, three years after the year of issue. Awards earned and redeemed by the Company are separate from and in addition to those earned by the individual traveler through the WorldPerks frequent flyer program.
  4. Points are posted to the Company's account daily. Northwest Airlines reserves the right to change the posting frequency without advance notice. Delay between actual flight and account adjustment can be up to 10-12 weeks. The Travel Contact will be able to access updated account balances on the web site.
  5. All Northwest Airlines tickets must be purchased in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico and be validated on Northwest (ticket number begins with "012"). All travel must be under a Northwest Airlines (NW) or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL) flight number.
  6. Exclusions: E-Certificates, Companion Fares, Complimentary Travel/Upgrade Certificates, Senior/Youth Fares, and any other discounts or promotions are not available through Biz Perks and are not eligible for award points, unless otherwise specified.
  7. In cases where the Company disputes the amount of trips generated, Northwest reserves the right to require proof of travel, including ticket receipts and original boarding passes. The Company must inform Northwest Airlines, in writing, of any dispute of eligible trips within four months of the original travel date. Disputes should be sent to: Northwest Airlines Biz Perks, 7500 Airline Drive - C-6650, Minneapolis, MN 55450-1101. A $1,000 audit fee will be assessed to the company.

Redeeming rewards

  1. Awards are issued to the Company Travel Contact and are to be used only by Company employees traveling on Northwest Airlines.
  2. Points are redeemable online through the Biz Perks web site. Only the Company's Travel Contact or an authorized travel agency is allowed access to the redemption page and the company Travel Contact is responsible for award distribution within the Company. NWA is not responsible or accountable in any way for rewards ordered by authorized travel agencies. Please allow 2 weeks processing time to receive complimentary tickets, upgrades, beverage/headset coupons, and WorldClubs pass - one visit. Please allow 2 weeks processing time for the WorldPerks account of the award recipient to be updated for WorldClubs one-year memberships and Silver Elite status, and another 4-6 weeks for the recipient's credentials package to be received.
  3. Award point values and menu options are subject to change at Northwest Airline's discretion and without advance notice.

  5. Terms and conditions for use of awards are specified on the award certificates. These terms and conditions include, but are not limited to, validity dates, blackout dates, capacity controls or applicable fees and surcharges. Once an award has been issued, the passenger generally has one year from the date of issue to complete travel, unless otherwise stated. Award travel tickets and upgrades apply to travel wholly on Northwest Airlines and exclude affiliate and partner flights. Northwest may limit the seats available for upgrades and award travel to any and all destinations and may allocate no upgrade or award seats on certain flights. Complimentary tickets are round-trip and are redeemable through NW Reservations at 1-800-210-9789 or your travel agent. All Confirmed Upgrades are one way and are only redeemable through Northwest Reservations at 1-800-210-9789.   6. Awards may not be combined or used with any other award, WorldPerks Award, air travel certificate, discount coupon, premium offer or certain promotional fares. Award travel using upgrade or free ticket certificates is not eligible for earning additional Biz Perks points.
  7. Lost, stolen, destroyed, expired or unused award certificates or tickets will not be replaced or credited to the Company's account. The sale or barter of any awards other than by Northwest Airlines is expressly prohibited. Any awards transferred, sold, bartered or purchased in violation of the program rules are void and may be confiscated or canceled.
  8. All tax liability associated with the receipt and use of Biz Perks is the responsibility of the Company.

Termination of Agreement

  1. Northwest Airlines reserves the right to discontinue the Biz Perks Program with 90 days notice to its members. Should the Program be terminated, the Company's right to accrue and redeem awards will be terminated 90 days after notice is given.
  2. Failure to follow Program Rules or Northwest Airlines' contract of carriage and tariffs, abuse of Program privileges, or misrepresentation of any information provided to Northwest Airlines by the Company or its employees may result in termination of the Company's eligibility and participation in the Program and forfeiture of all awards or points earned.
  3. If no trips are taken by the Company account during a period of 12 consecutive months, Northwest may terminate the Company's membership. Any points the company has accrued must be redeemed for awards within 90 days notice by Northwest Airlines of membership termination.
