I want to get a debt consolidation loan secured by my home equity!

I am on SSDI (disability) and have a problem with credit cards (all of which I owe money on and are closed). Is your ranking of companies based on trustworthiness and not another debt just to get yourself out of? When things sound too good to be true, they usually are. Nothing is ever free. Why would someone want to try to get me out of debt, with themselves getting as little out of it as they could?

I had past credit problems and had some charge offs. Even though I now own my home beause of my past credit I cannot get a home equity loan from banks. Any suggestions.?
