The mission of the Museum of Coastal Carolina is to stimulate the public’s
interest and understanding of natural science, environment, and cultural
history of the coastal region of the Carolinas by providing quality
educational facilities, activities, and exhibits.
The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. governs its two facilities, the
Museum of Coastal Carolina on Ocean Isle Beach and Ingram Planetarium at
Sunset Beach, as 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. The Museum and
Planetarium’s operating expense is funded mainly through admission fees,
private donations, and community contributions. Only a small percentage of
its budget is provided by public funds. |
