Featured Event June 10, 24, 2006Kickapoo Cavern SPWild Cave Tour — This rugged two-hour adventure hikes across fields of loose boulders into the heart of the great Kickapoo Cavern. The primitive tour passes the 80-foot tall twin columns, the largest known formation in Texas. Participants should be in good physical condition, must bring two light sources per person and wear sturdy footwear for hiking. Featured Event July 1–31, 2006Goliad SP75 Good Years - a State Park for Goliad! — This exhibit is dedicated to the people who worked so hard to restore Mission Espiritu Santo to vibrant new life. Abandoned by its founders in 1830, the Spanish Colonial Era Mission of Espiritu Santo de Zuniga was reborn 101 years later when it was dedicated as Goliad State Park in 1931. The Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps restored the mission buildings in the 1930s, and the site experienced a second rebirth in the 1970s when TPWD refurbished the buildings by adding a museum, exhibits and improved camping facilities.
