The AF Story

The addiction began in 1980 with two young kids growing up on the barrier islands of Florida's Space Coast. Daily fishing excursions before and after school fueled the passion for fishing. Graduation was not only from high school, but to the realism of the uncharted future. Kevin traveled to Tampa to study television production at the University of South Florida. Blair struggled with the fishing addiction, before enlisting in the Air Force. A career working on the Space Shuttle brought him back home, where the fishing addiction returned.

Twenty years later, Blair, a professional fishing guide, and Kevin, an award-winning television producer, have reunited to create the next generation of outdoor television. And about "Mogan", the word was coined by these two along time ago. Blair was born and raised in Florida and called fish "biggans". Kevin moved to Florida from up North and called big fish "monsters". You know how kids are. . .they put the two words together and created their own. Like a "lunker", but a "mogan" is in saltwater!

Capt. Blair Wiggins:
adj. Host / Fisherman / Approachable / Genuine
a.k.a. "Mogan Man"

He’s the kind of guy you’d want on "your island." As a professional guide for 12 years, and a full-time outdoorsman since birth, Capt. Blair has made his livelihood on the water. That’s why the show’s format was created in-part to promote and support the guide industry that afforded him this career opportunity. He is conservation-minded, and works to ensure our future will enjoy the same plentiful waters as he did by practicing and teaching "catch and release" principles. His contagious style is a cross between the in-your-face-style of Pro-Wrestling and the crazy antics of the Crocodile Hunter. Children seem to gravitate towards him the most. The Mogan Man is real, and possesses "child-like" qualities that make him approachable to people of all ages.

Kevin McCabe:
adj. Producer / Innovative / Creative / Honest
a.k.a. "McCabe" www.mpivideo.com

After graduating from the University of South Florida, Kevin began working for ESPN and NBC where he acquired the knowledge to change outdoor television. As in his first career success with 3D engineering animation, Kevin's new creation is having a big impact in another niche market. Kevin's innovative concept is an adrenaline-driven, reality-based production, and is often described as rod bendin' drag screamin' television. Kevin combines art with technology, entertainment with education, and refreshing honesty audiences appreciate. He transforms the team’s work into what you see on T.V.

George Schaafsma:
adj. Cameraman / Technical / Sincere / Professional
a.k.a. "McGyver"

Ultimate technical engineer, he can rig anything, work anything, get it done, and never lose it! George is another guy you’d probably want on "your island." A ten-year career with FOX and NBC as a robotic camera operator gives George the edge with troubleshooting and technical issues in the field, in remote locations such as deep in the Everglades where "no service" is the only display on your phone. An outdoorsman himself, George crossed-over from NASCAR, and has seamlessly adapted to the creative format of AF. George contributes patience under pressure in situations of bad weather, bad gear, and high seas. That’s why he’s known as "McGyver" in the AF Family.

Patrice Mahoney:
adj. Marketing / Organized / Communicator / Kind
a.k.a. "Trice" \ Treese \ noun

What do Cornhuskers know about Mogans? This graduate of the University of Nebraska didn’t know much about saltwater fishing before she joined the AF team . . . It didn’t take long for her to share in the same passion for fishing. Patrice has successfully applied her marketing, research and organizational skills to the outdoor industry, and if you need to know the "who, what, where, when, why, and how" of Addictive Fishing, she's the one with the answers. Always with a smile, Trice is the glue that keeps the team together and on the same page.
