That's a wrap . . . 6/8/2006 Wrapped up shooting a show in Miami with Captain Dave Sutton late last week. If Kevin’s camera caught half as much of what we were catching, it’ll be some sweet TV. Then I headed for the Keys for a vacation with my dad. It was great to hang out with my dad… no cell phones… just us and the fish we were catching. But then reality came knocking again, and a few days later I had the cell phone back on, heading to Miami on Monday to the studios of radio station WDNA 88.9 FM to talk with Carole Kotkin, host of the popular Food & Wine Talk show, to spill all sorts of secrets about the right way to cook all kinds of fish – tuna, kingfish, grouper, snapper. I’ll give everyone a shout when that show airs. You can even catch it on the station’s website. Guess I must have done good on that show ‘cause Carole was nice enough to invite me to teach a fish grilling class in January at the swank Ocean Reef Club in Miami. Gearing up today to go on road tomorrow for a few days down in Key West, where we’ll be going after tarpon on a fly in my Ranger Phantom and trying out some brand new prototypes of Eagle Claw’s sweet Wright & McGill line of saltwater flyrods. If these sticks are anywhere near as awesome as their others, we’ll grab ‘em for the launch of Addictive Fishing’s signature line of rods. Sssh. More on that later. Then it’s off to Cocodrie, Louisiana, June 15-17 for the next leg in the FLW Outdoors Redfish Tourament Series. Wish me and Tadd luck. Oh, and keep an eye out for Miami Herald outdoors writer Sue Cocking’s story about fishing with yours truly. We had a lotta fun catching some fine tarpon on flies...
