| EndNote 3.1.3 Updater for Macintosh |
| EndNote 3.1.3 is available as an update patch to users who already have
EndNote 3.0 to 3.1.2 installed. The 3.1.3 update fixes some bugs and
adds a few minor changes to the program as described below.
Thank you for using EndNote!
|
|
- Word 98 has difficulty translating formatted EndNote Word 6 citations.
To ensure a safe transfer between Word 6 and Word 98, simply run
the "Unformat Citations" command before transferring documents between
different versions of Word. Word 5 users should run the "EndNote
Convert from Module" command (Tools menu:Commands) before transferring
the document to Word 6 or Word 98.

|
- EndNote 3.1.3 is compatible with Macintosh System OS9
- EndNote 3.1.3 allows users to send search results directly from
the BioMedNet Evaluated
MEDLINE service to an EndNote library. With
this functionality, you can get all the benefits of using BioMedNet's
web-based search interface and instantly transfer the search results
to EndNote -- without the extra steps of saving the references to
a text file and importing them. BioMedNet is an Internet community
for biological and medical researchers. Subscriptions are free.

- EndNote 3.0.1 uses HTTP/1.0 protocol instead of 0.9. This allows
for better interaction with proxy servers. If you've been unable
to connect to PubMed using EndNote, this update may help you.
- The Add-in for Word 98 warns users about damaged citations resulting
from the conversion of files among Word 5, 6, and 98. When converting
a Word document, it is always best to have the EndNote citations
unformatted. Formatted citations run the risk of being damaged
when Word converts a document.
- Fixed bug where the Term List was not being sent to the back of
all application windows after a term was inserted.
- Fixed problems with selecting references in the Library window:
- Improved importing of corporate names and URLs retrieved through
remote connections.
- Added OPAC to menu of Record Syntaxes. For servers that support
the OPAC syntax, this allows for circulation data to be imported.
The MARC filter in the connection file must also be changed to import
that line of data.
- Fixed bug where MARC records had 'NULL' characters which caused
EMPTY RECORDS to be displayed in the Retrieved References window.
- Other small fixes were also included.
