The Basic Blackjack System

The basic strategy is not very complicated, it is the optimum way of playing your hand if you don't count cards. It has been about for a while and computer simulations, based on the odds of things happening, derived it. There is no guesswork involved it is just the way you should play any of your cards depending on the dealers up card. What makes this strategy so good is that it is quite simple to memorise and it lowers the house edge. Depending on the rules that Blackjack is played at in the casino the house edge is 5.75% and by correctly hitting, standing, and doubling the house odds can be cut down to less than 1%.

Below is a table of how to play any hand in blackjack Along the top is the dealers face card and down the side is what you have in your hand and the action you should take. This assumes the casino you play in has double down on 10 and 11 and you have the option to surrender.

This chart is a simple way to increse your odds against the house although the house still has the edge it is alot better to have a basic knowledge of this system before playing.
