Ways to get to Stansted Airport

The Roads: Below are directions to reach Stansted Airport by road. Stansted Airport is marked on all maps.

Driving Directions
The airport is situated next to junction 8 of the M11 motorway, less than 20 minutes away from junction 27 of the M25 motorway and is easily accessible from London.

From the North, use the M62 to connect with the A1 (M) at the Feerybridge Roundabout. Then follow the A1 all the way to the M11, one on the M11 exit at the junction 8/ 8a to Stansted airport.

If traveling from Wales or the West, then follow either the M6 to the M40 or the M4 to connect with he M25. Then follow the road round London in an clockwise direction and then connect with the M11. Then you exit the M11 at junction 8 / 8a and follow all signs to Stansted airport.

If traveling from the South use major road to connect with M25 and follow the above.

Stansted airport is 25 miles south of Cambridge just off the M 11 and is easily accessible by car or via public transport.

Traveling By Bus: National Express coaches from Nottingham to Stansted airport requires one change. There are several morning buses to London from Nottingham’s Board Marsh bus station which takes about 6 hrs but the coach in the afternoon to Cambridge takes less than 5 hrs. Traveling By Train: Central Trains and Midline Mainline operates these trains. From Nottingham take the train to Leicester and than change the train to Stansted. Traveling By Car: From Nottinghamshire take the A1 South to Huntingdon, from east on the A14 towards Cambridge. From here take the M 11 and travel southbound to junction 8 where Stansted Airport will be signposted.

Car Parks -There is a short stay car park outside the Terminal Building of Stansted Airport. Continuos buses are provided and run from the Mid term car park and a Long Stay car park.
