Ecological Unit Inventory
(EUI) on Winema National Forest |
Coverage depicts ecological
units (polygons) as defined in the EUI of the Winema NF, Interim
Report #5, May 2003. The inventory provides maps and describes
the kind and proportionate extent of ecological types that occur
in the map units. The map units and ecological types are conceptualized
by synthesis of landscape features and processes, and study of
relationships of the soil, landform, lithology, plant communities,
and climate and near surface hydrology to each other. The inventory
collects information on the properties of individual resources
(e.g. Soil, vegetation) and uses that information to characterize
each resource and support the interpretations for management activities.
The map units correspond to the landtype phase and landtype in
the National Hierarchical Framework of Ecological Units and with
an Order 2 and Order 3 mapping intensity in the National Cooperative
Soil Survey. |
