The Llamas' centuries old ability as a beast of burden has been rediscovered by hikers, backpackers, and forest work crews. Their surefootedness and padded feet, along with their ability to graze and browse, has minimal impact on the back country. Walking Tours Of Campus

The Information and Referral Center offers guided walking tours of the campus throughout the year, except from late December through early January. The tours are an enjoyable and informative introduction to Cornell and its history, student life, and Cornell's combined roles as an undergraduate teaching institution, an international research university, and New York State's land-grant institution. You also may be interested in taking the virtual tours.

Tours begin at the Information and Referral Center in the Day Hall lobby and appointments are not required. The tours are mostly outdoors; each lasts about one hour and 15 minutes and includes information about Cornell's undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools and colleges. The tour routes are accessible to wheelchairs. Please advise the tour guide of any special needs or call ahead. The Information and Referral Center can be reached at (607)254-INFO, Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. and Saturday 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. (Eastern time).

United States State Capital

Tourism has been Florida’s major source of income for many years. Although it initially attracted visitors from the Northeastern states during the winter months, it is now a year-round vacationland visited by tourists from every state, Latin America, and also from Canada and other foreign countries. The state’s tourist attractions range from the vast expanse of the Everglades in the south to the historic cities of Saint Augustine and Pensacola in the north. The most popular attractions are the theme parks around Orlando and the many resort cities that rim the coast. Their importance is reflected in the distribution of the state’s inhabitants, most of whom live in cities along the coast or in a corridor stretching between Tampa and Daytona Beach and including Orlando. While Jacksonville on the northern Atlantic shore is the state’s largest city in population, the state’s largest metropolitan area centers on Miami, near the southern tip of the state. Tallahassee, in the panhandle, is Florida’s capital.

Golf Travel

Up in the Rockies: For obvious reasons, the state of Colorado carries visions of skiing, snow cabins, snowboarding and well, anything revolving around snow. In the summer however, the snow limits itself to the peaks of nearby mountains and the sports fan can enjoy many activities, with the golfer enjoying a veritable banquet.

The first stop for me was Denver, the state capital with tree lined streets and beautiful parks. It sits a few miles from the Rocky mountains and the best thing for the travelling golfer is the fact that the area boasts 300 days of sunshine a year (but at varying temperatures!).

Golf Tour : The golf around this area has a great variety combining a desert feel, with parkland and links golf thrown in. Within two hours of Denver, there are over 200 golf courses. Many of the most beautiful are to the west of the city, high up in the mountains and this is where I find the Keystone Ranch Resort.

The game of golf encompasses a variety of areas, from the Rules to obtaining a USGA Handicap Index to conducting competitions to establishing parameters for equipment. The USGA takes an active role in all these important aspects. The Association, in conjunction with the R&A in St. Andrews, Scotland, writes, interprets and maintains the Rules of Golf as well as adopts guidelines for Amateur Status. The USGA also conducts national championships and tests golf clubs and balls to ensure they conform to the Rules of Golf. It also created the Handicap System Manual so all golfers, no matter what their ability, can compete against each other in a fair and equitable manner.

The New JFK Airport Virgin Air Clubhouse

The new Virgin Clubhouse at JFK's Terminal 4 measures 7,000 square feet in size and is located right across from Virgin Atlantic check-in counters. It features large floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the terminal and the runway. A waterfall cascades into a 90 foot long reflecting pool that runs along the length of the Clubhouse.
The Virgin Air Clubhouse offers a full menu service as well as snacks, such as sandwiches, drinks or ice cream.

If you are traveling with a laptop, you can connect to the internet using wireless technology for a nominal charge. Alternatively, there are individual booths offering i-Mac computers.

The bar area offers seating for 20 guests and a 42?plasma screen. The cocktail area has four Sony Playstations and a television.

The Clubhouse, open daily from 2:00 pm until 11:30 pm, can accommodate up to 150 Upper Class passengers.

Hawaii Interest

The state flourishes as a year-round tourist resort, and outdoor recreation takes many forms. Visitors and residents may hunt for wild boar in the mountains, fish for marlin offshore, examine volcanic craters at close range, trek across desolate lava flows and through dense rain forests , play golf and tennis in Honolulu, or ski on the snowy slopes of Mauna Kea . Ecotourism, which focuses on nature study and outdoor activities that minimize ecological impact, is also becoming more popular in Hawaii. Beach sports include surfboarding, body surfing, swimming, canoeing, skin diving, water-skiing, or spearfishing.

Beaches

A beautiful tan, the sand, sun, surf and sea are all part of a fun outing at the beach. To ensure that you have an enjoyable time remember to use suntan lotion and heed posted signs. Check with the lifeguard on duty if you have any questions. Most importantly, put on a lot of suntan lotion with an SPF (sun protection factor) rating of at least 25. You'll enjoy being a little bronzed much more than being as red as a lobster!
Kailua Beach . With its steady breezes and sandy shorlines, this is Oahu's windsurfing capital. Take a lesson, rent equipment or just relax in the sand and gentle surf.

Waikiki Beach . Perhaps the world's most famous beach, it's a suntanner's paradise. Warm waters are perfect for snorkeling, surfing, or just floating around on an inflatable mattress.

Sandy Beach . Well-known for its shorebreak waves, this is the place for the EXPERIENCED body surfer. The currents here can also be quite strong, so it's not recommended to go into the water here unless you are definitely an experienced body surfer. The beach itself is great for a tan.
