Listed below are the modules included in the
basic Voyager system:
Acquisitions Module
The Voyager Acquisitions module manages your library purchases
and the activities associated with those purchases. Working
with purchase orders, invoices, ledgers, vendors, serials
check-in, problems and claims are your daily tasks.
Call Slip Module
Manage closed stacks or remote storage locations quickly and
efficiently with the Voyager Call Slip module. Real time
updates inform the patron of the status of their request
via WebVoyáge. Resource sharing with Universal Borrowing
expands upon an already great feature.
Cataloging Module
Voyager's Cataloging Module provides a powerful and user-friendly
means by which MARC21-based records are created and maintained.
Integration between Cataloging and the Online Public Access
Catalog (OPAC) means that you can easily build and maintain
a complete, MARC21-based catalog.
Circulation Module
Voyager’s Circulation Module allows you to perform circulation
activities for your library using convenient windows that
display all of your patron and item information. This module
is easy to use and easy to train.
Online
Public Access Catalog – WebVoyáge
The Voyager® Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) allows staff
and patrons to perform complex searches of MARC21-based records.
Now WebVoyáge provides
an interface so customizable, you are limited only by your
imagination.
Pre-packaged Reports
The pre-packaged Microsoft® Access reports allow a great deal of flexibility
and power through mining information from the Voyager database. Consisting
of over seventy predefined reports, there are a wide variety of reports to
choose from – plus, they can be easily modified to provide the type and level
of information that you need.
Reporter
Standard Voyager reports provide customers with the means to
justify their many processes and expenditures at the library.
Each library has unique requirements for system reports,
yet some standard reports are required in almost every library.
System Administration Module
Voyager's System Administration module maintains local options
controlled by library staff. Like all Voyager clients, this
module uses a graphical interface to configure the system
to accommodate local policies. All security authorizations
are also defined in this module.
Web Administration
The Voyager WebAdmin (Server Utilities) allows you to run various
batch jobs by selecting from the options that appear on screen.
Instead of starting a telnet session and entering the batch
job commands at a command-line prompt, you can simply point
your Web browser at WebAdmin and click on the job that you
want to run. WebAdmin works in exactly the same way as the
batch jobs because WebAdmin actually uses the existing batch
jobs in order to do the processing. Using WebAdmin, you can
run the following batch jobs: Acquisitions (Pacqjob), Cataloging
(Pcatjob), Circulation (Pcircjob), Bulk Import (Pbulkimport) and MARC Export (Pmarcexport).
You can also access the log and report files that are created by the batch jobs
through WebAdmin. |
